Web Developer (Full Stack)

We are looking for talented, highly motivated and proactive Web Developers to expand our dynamic team in Hanoi, Vietnam. Your work will have a direct impact on our success and will help create amazing experiences for our clients.

These will be your responsibilities:
● Design, develop & maintain applications and write well structured and formatted code complying with Focal Labs code standards
● Conduct focused rapid prototype/experiments to answer the viability of proposed web based projects or products.
● Work closely with a combination of our founders, clients, sister companies, product management and design teams
● Rapidly solve problems and fix bugs
● Contribute to estimation and planning
● Contribute to technology selection and all design decisions including solution architecture, database and system design
● Create automated unit and integration tests
● Perform system and integration testing
● Code reviews and refactoring
● Provide technical support of environments.
● Analyse and report on performance and outcomes, when requested
● Any other duties we may assign to you, having regard to your skills, training and experience

● Complete understanding of the full software development lifecycle
● Fluent in spoken and written English

Your Experience and Skills:
● Experience with Jira or similar Agile tools
● Strong Professional Web Development experience with frontend technologies, including:
○ Advanced HTML5, CSS3, LESS, Saas and vanilla Javascript
○ Core JS with both ES5 and ES6
○ Frameworks such as React JS, Angular 2, Backbone or Vue JS
● Strong professional experience with backend web development technologies and backend REST APIs, such as Node.js services / frameworks and APIs
● Experience with both SQL and NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB) databases
● Experienced with other data storage technologies like Redis and ElasticSearch.
● Experience with development tools such as Babel, Webpack, Gulp, Grunt and NPM
● Experience with containerized applications using Docker and micro service architectures
● Knowledge in production-grade container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm and Amazon Elastic Container Service.
● Knowledge in Continuous Integration tools such as Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins or CodeShip.
It’s an advantage if you have:
● Experience with any of the following:
○ Augmented or virtual reality development frameworks, such as WebVR API, Three.js and 3D JS library
○ Cloud based deployment, AWS and Heroku
○ Advanced linux and scripting
○ Backend as a Service technologies such as Parse or Firebase.
○ Can demonstrate the ability to build multiple prototypes quickly
○ Deep understanding of HTML DOM
○ Experience optimising front-end performance
● Desire to invent and work with the latest technologies
● Love to create disruptive technologies that deliver new experiences
● Have a BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
