Vietnam Procurement Manager

SUMMARY: Support Global Commodity council on developing new supplier base at Vietnam.
Provide leadership and supervision to the Buyer/Sourcing specialist in Vietnam, while supporting the goals and objectives of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Function A:- Sourcing Function
• Develop supplier base to fulfill different customers' need; strengthen sourcing actions and qualify / locate good supplier sources.
• Maintain the relationship with the local custom made parts supplier as well as representatives of the global EE distributors.

Function B:- Purchasing
• Organizes and leads the Vietnam Buyers, in support of the vision of the Director of Asian Materials
• Lead Buyers to achieve performance metrics:
• Support Buyers assisting in supplier delivery problems, and the implementation of supply chain strategies.
• Serve as escalation point for Buyers in the resolution of part shortages, to support MRP dates.
• Ensure Buyers are effectively trained on latest procurement processes, and mentor Buyers on best practices.
• Participate in supplier business reviews with Preferred Suppliers.
• Complete reports and provide information in a timely manner as requested by management.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Business is required. Seven or more years of procurement experience is required for this position, assuming educational requirements are met. Equivalent industry experience of ten or more years is highly desirable.

• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to ready, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to top management. Demonstrated negotiation skills. Capable of interaction with any employee. Ability to analyze and interpret complex drawings and technical data.

• REASONING ABILITY: Advanced decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

• OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Strong project planning skills required. Ability to operate a computer and use word processing, spread sheet, and database software. Knowledge of negotiation processes and demonstrated customer interaction skills valuable for the position. Must be highly independent and results oriented, with knowledge of corporate processes in design, quality and manufacturing to maximize department resource return on investment.

• PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
