Viet Nam AP Accountant

Job Profile Summary:
Responsible for supporting the team with accounting and reporting services, providing administrative and accounting systems support, and assisting with analysis and reporting processes to ensure integrity and conformance to BP's systems and requirements.

Purpose of the role:
The AP Accountant is responsible for daily AP operations and the deliveries of monthly AP closing and reporting. The role’s scope of work is to check and process all invoices in JDE system in relation to supplier & Inter-company invoices, trade loan investments, signage, cash rebates and staff claims.

Key Results/ Accountabilities expected from role:
• Ensure timely posting business transactions and processing invoices in accounting system (JDE) after checking/ verifying financial information and ensuring accounts payable records with appropriate documentation and approvals.
• Clarify any questionable invoice items & payment request.
• Verify the adequateness of all supporting documents related to payable transactions to ensure compliant with company policies and tax related (incl. informing line-manager the issue for late submission.
• Perform Balance Sheet Integrity monthly for AP accounts.
• Reconcile, follow up and ensure the settlement of supplier/ inter-company invoices timely and accurately. Inform line-manager the late settlement as per policy guideline.
• Prepare and post accruals entries and deferred expenses entries.
• Monitor movements and aging of payable account balances. Complete monthly reconciliation of inter-company purchases and AP balances and quarterly account reconciliation with suppliers.
• Make accruals monthly for un-posted invoices.
• Support for internal & external audit.
• Prepare and reconcile FCWT returns.
• Follow the Financial Statement Close Checklist to assure timely and accurate month end closing of AP.
• Filing all accounting documents in accordance with statutory requirements.
• Review staff claim report (Concur report) and make the adjustment if any mismatch during document checking. (e.g. Expense type, a/c coding, invoice no., tax ID, supplier name…).
• Other ad-hoc requirements by line manager.

About you:
• Educational background: Degree in accounting or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years working experience in the relevant role
• Others:
o Hands-on experience in JDE accounting system and SAP Concur system is highly preferred.
o Able to form relationships across functions and other departments to deliver company objectives.
