Transport Manager - North

We are currently seeking a Transport Manager, North to join DHL eCommerce Vietnam!

The Transport Manager, North will be responsible for fleet management in areas of procurement, vendor management and capacity utilizations; and support the planning of the network comprising of long-distance line hauls, airlift line-hauls and pickup-tours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Fleet Management
•Responsible for developing and implementing strategies, procedures, workflows and Standard Operating Procedures
•Monitor expenses under various heads and ensure adherence to the departmental budget
•Monitoring and planning with the Local Teams for daily allocation of network vehicles with various sizes for various runs
•Support in conduct of regular safety trainings and briefings for drivers
•Responsible for compliance with all Vietnam traffic and security regulations with regards to driver and vehicle

Operations Management
•Responsible for the quality and performance of the daily line haul operations
•Closely monitor line haul costs and KPIs for airlifts and ensure compliance to procedures and requirements
•Coordination and support for procurement of vehicles for country wide network
Operations Set-Up
•Setting up of network control center to monitor the running of vehicles
•Support Head Operations in network design, actively contribute to the building and expanding of transport capacities and means according to the development of the business

Stakeholder Management
•Identification, assignment and deployment of fleet vendors for network vehicles
•Monitor the process conducted by the local teams for identification and empanelment of fleet vendors for Network.
•Maintenance of a database of fleet vendors and brokers for contingency requirements.
•Monitor vendor performance and ensure corrective action
•Cooperation with customer service or sales on customer demands regarding pick-up tours
Team Management
•Provide direction, guidance and support to subordinates to help them discharge their duties effectively
•Monitor the performance of subordinates on a continuous basis to identify key performers and mentor and coach them effectively

Desired Skills / Qualifications
•3-5 years in Logistic and Transport Management or related field
•Safety officer at executive level is preferred
•Extensive technical knowledge and experience in the express transport industry is preferred.
•Leadership through effective communication and ability to influence outcomes across multiple regional locations
•Organizational skills with ability to prioritize under pressure
•Good Command of English and Vietnamese (Written and Spoken)
•Inter-personal skills, excellent teamwork
•Strong in leadership and communication skill
•Ability to work independently, conscientiously and under pressure.

Minimum Educational Qualification
•Degree in relevant discipline
