Trade And Investment Analyst, Ho Chi Minh City

This position will be located in Ho Chi Minh City.

In this role, you will:
〉 Identify emerging sectors with potential trade opportunities into Vietnam by Australia-based companies through a targeted and systematic approach that matches with Australian industry capabilities.
〉 Promote investment into Australia by Vietnam-based companies through a targeted and systematic approach that matches local investor interests with Australian opportunities and capabilities.
〉 Identify potential investors, drive FDI into Australian government priority sectors, with a focus on Services & Technology, Health & Medical, Advanced Manufacturing.
〉 Develop strong relationships, partnerships and network in Vietnam (including government, university and research institutions, and industry driven players).
〉 Understand and build relationships with Vietnam based technology incubators and accelerators (government / private sector) that have access to VC funding programs.
〉 Assist Australian I&T start-ups, SMEs and related enterprises engage potential investors and other relevant stakeholders based in Vietnam.
〉 Constantly develop new contacts and networks in the Vietnam market. Maintain and build on existing networks of contacts and remain well informed about the changing nature of sectors in Vietnam and Vietnam-based investors as well as evolving trade and investment opportunities in Australia.
〉 Efficiently manage a fast-changing workload covering diverse industry sectors and potential investors, within internally and externally driven timeframes.
〉 Assist in planning, coordinating and implementing business matching activities such as investor events, trade displays and market visits, including by government Ministers and officials.
〉 Contribute input to development and implementation of post and organisational business plans.
〉 Work effectively within a dynamic small team environment operating under day-to-day guidance and management supervision from the Senior Trade Commissioner.
〉 Utilise internal databases and knowledge management systems to support work practices. Actively apply Austrade business practices and maintain accuracy of information in all Austrade business systems to deliver accurate and timely reporting and effective relationship management.
〉 Contribute to knowledge creation within Austrade by sharing knowledge, information and insight and by embracing opportunities for best practice and personal professional development.
〉 Maintain Austrade standards and policies, including diversity in the workplace, ethical practice and occupational health and safety principles and compliance with audit requirements.
〉 Work collaboratively within the Austrade network and with external stakeholders to contribute to service delivery and achieve desired outcomes, while upholding the Australian Public Service (APS) Values and Code of Conduct and work health & safety principles

〉 Existing relationships and experience working in trade and investment environment in Vietnam
〉 Understanding of investment attraction and promotion dynamics in Vietnam. This may include relevant tertiary qualification(s) and/or minimum three years’ experience in a business development, foreign investment, investor relations or related role, preferably within an investment / professional services environment.
〉 Knowledge and understanding of the benefits of trade and foreign direct investment. Capacity to understand and promote Australia’s competitive advantages and government policy support.
〉 Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to successfully represent Australia and Austrade and the ability to negotiate and communicate with stakeholders.
〉 Proven ability to think analytically with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
〉 Experience working within a team environment to deliver business outcomes.
〉 Good language skills in English and Vietnamese.
