Technical Trainer

The Technical Trainer in Learning and Development is responsible for the delivery of key training programs for the assigned line of business. The Technical Trainer is the primary facilitator of programs that drive a mindset of service, employee performance, engagement. Programs include Technical Onboarding and continuous learning.

Programs are delivered primarily to employees in the instructor’s location. However, this role will collaborate with other instructors on program delivery around the globe as needed to support growth and a consistent level of performance across the business unit.

Duties and responsibilities

• Deliver a multi-week Onboarding for new employees to groups of 20+ that is designed to achieve proficiency targets.
• Measure and document progress of each employee during Onboarding. Give feedback to employees on technical and soft skills and advise management of progress and issues.
• Observe performance in production for the first 30-60 days. Assess the impact of Onboarding and discuss insights and actions with Operations, L&D, and Talent Acquisition.
• Coordinate and prepare classroom and materials for each session. Partner with IT as needed to ensure technical training rooms are ready and functioning with little or no downtime or disruption to learning.
• Implement continuous learning that is designed to improve advance skills and abilities of employees in their current role.
• Use modern instructional methods that produce knowledge retention and skill development. Deliver highly interactive practices, simulations, microlearning, and exams.
• Build a deep understanding of the instructional design of courses to ensure consistency in delivery of the program across all locations and cohorts.
• Partner with Operations Managers to schedule training.
• Update and maintain course materials ensuring accuracy with product and product changes.
• Complete course closure procedures to ensure the LMS accurately reflects employee’s training history. Report performed trainings to Site Training Manager.
• Implement a plan to remain up to date in customer support and help desk policies, procedures, standards and documentation.
• Collaborate with other business unit instructors in other locations on continuous learning needs. Deliver similar needs in ways that scale and increase the impact each instructor has on global results.
