Technical Analysis & Improvement Engineer

Cai Mep International Terminal is looking for competent and experienced Technical Analysis & Improvement Engineer who is responsible for preparing, developing, maintaining and optimising maintenance plans, procedures, instructions and documentation related to the equipment with CMMS.
This position use CMMS to analyse equipment maintenance performance and beak down root cause analysis – propose and improve to achieve maximum availability of equipment and a reduction in maintenance costs.
Tasks:

Reporting to the Workshop Manager and based in Tan Thanh district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province (Cai Mep) with the key tasks as following:

• Judgement of and execution of laws and business regulations and procedures on environmental and safety procedures;
• Vetting maintenance concepts on their compliance;
• Executing the management of change procedures on maintenance concepts, maintenance plans or maintenance schedules;
• Support the analytics of reports for predictive, corrective Work Orders and equipment performance;
• Execute failure analysis of equipment and installations with – if needed – the help of statistical and analytical methods;
• Analyse inspection reports;
• Support root cause analysis to avoid repetitive failures;
• Manage and optimise current maintenance concepts;
• Propose new/additional maintenance techniques, (measure) methods and spare parts;
• Create, implement and maintain work instructions;
• Define preventative Work Orders in CMMS according the maintenance plans;
• Maintain CMMS according the business and government standards;
• Create periodic reports for equipment and installations;
• Advise the department Maintenance and the department Operations in the area of repairs and the usage of equipment;
• Highlight issues concerning maintainability, standardisation and normalisation;
• Assist in preparing maintenance and modification works;
• Meet (periodical) with in- and external stakeholders;
• Lead (sub) projects in the area of maintenance engineering with regards to maintenance concepts & -systems.
• Direct to lead Sub-Contractor skilled team to execute the improvement project.
• Based on equipment usage plan and scheduled maintenance and repair work, liaise with operations for the availability of the equipment.
• Monitors status of preventative maintenance schedules, to ensure all PM work is being done timely by the Contractor.
• Ensures maximum availability of equipment is maintained for port operations.

A qualified, result orientated person as well as able to work well under pressure and within a team.

The ideal candidate has:
• A Bachelor/ Engineer degree in engineering or relevant studies.
• Additional trainings in automation, electrical and mechanical fields in any heavy industries are preferred.
• Requires at least 4 to 6 years of similar function experience in general maintenance section in any ports, mines, steel and manufacturing plants. Must have specific knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical and related subjects.
• Was a leader for several successfully improvement project in the past in Technical.
• Requires knowledge of wide range of electrical equipment, industrial control systems, variable drive systems, and mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems and their controls.
• Requires knowledge and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics, service & parts manuals for various equipment. Must be able to interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications.
• Understanding PLC& program Siemens/ Fuji/ Yaskawa Siemens are preferred
• Understanding 5W&1H method in troubleshooting report.
• Affinity with IT
• Ability to work under high pressure
• Excellent knowledge in the use of various software application, such as MS office, Excel, Access, Word etc.) and IFS. Must be able to exercise good judgment in order to set priorities.
• Knowledge of general supervisory principles
• Tact , diplomacy and sense of humour required to deal with internal customer ( operations) and staff in stressful situations and provide confident assurance
• Self-confidence and ability to work independently
• Capable of conducting technical training
