*Reports to: Regional Cocoa Manager APAC
POSITION OVERVIEW
Be an active member of the Cocoa sourcing unit team
Drive the implementation and monitoring of all sustainability certification programs. Understand the cocoa industry and sustainable farming models both at a large and small scale. Improve the livelihood of smallholder cocoa producers through the improvement of value chain performance and sustainability in cocoa producing areas. Innovate on environmentally friendly cultivation technologies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Pillar 1: Economically viable cocoa supply chain
1. Implement and monitor agronomic programs to increase productivity of farms and revenues of famers while keeping a strong link with research and new innovative solutions.
2. Support on developing large scale plantation models for cocoa.
3. Guarantee the Cacao-Trace verification implementation through external audit cycles and follow up on corrective
actions when needed.
4. Improve the Cacao-Trace audit software in partnership with the service provider.
5. Support global Cacao-Trace audit teams in understanding the software and Cacao-Trace standard.
6. Expand monitoring tools Ex: global monitoring tool (KPI’S) to collect data (GPS mapping + farmer database) to
measure our impact on farmers, and improve continuously to prove the shared value business model of Cacao-Trace.
Pillar 2: Environment protection and global warming resilience
1. For Cacao-Trace countries in APAC, analyze local needs through a community based needs assessment. Implement and monitor programs to help farmers with their resilience to global warming (agroforestry projects new planting material etc…) and the protection of the environment (best agricultural practices, organic certification etc…)
2. Stay current on new innovation and evolution in the sustainability and agriculture sector.
Pillar 3: Superior taste & consistent quality
1. Insure high quality beans through good agriculture practices at farm level.
Pillar 4: Sustainable living
1. Make diagnostic on how best use the chocolate bonus for a more sustainable living.
2. Report on farmer’s stories for communication purpose while visiting the project.
3. Explore closed loop farming models and diversified farming models.
4. Research grant funding and collaboration opportunities for Cacao-Trace programs.
Sustainability Officer
1. Analyzing and monitoring areas like natural resource usage and recycling for building the programs/ activities of using the best resources.
2. Educating people on the importance of sustainability initiatives, and obtaining funding for projects through rebate applications, grants, and project proposals.
3. Creating marketing materials, such as intranet (Workplace, Yammer, intended to generate awareness of sustainability issues.
4. Measuring company's sustainability performance based on KPIs/Goals.

Yêu cầu ứng viên
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in sustainability working for the industry and/or certification body.
- Mix of operational and strategically thinking with business understanding and strong field vision
- Project management skills: structured, organized in its project and communication. Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and under pressure
- Leadership skills to manage complexity (interdependency, understanding challenges, find consensus)
- Sense of ownership and responsibility
- Strong team player
- Continuous improvement and adaptation to a changing environment
- Willing to travel to cocoa producing regions on a regular basis (30%)
- Language & reporting skills: English (oral and written)
- Required competencies:
- Collaborating effectively: networking, managing diversity, building consensus, sharing info/results, leading others
by example, being able to deal with authorities
- Communicating effectively: actively listening, influencing & negotiating, reporting & training, using clear/concise
key messages that are adapted to the audience and the most appropriate communication channels/tools,
respecting confidentiality
- Driving performances: being ambitious, accountable, stress-resistant and results-driven, planning & prioritizing,
assessing risks, solving problems
- Improving continuously: willing to learn, being open for changes, taking constructive initiatives (entrepreneurship), striving for quality
