Supplier Quality Engineer [Da Nang City]

SUMMARY:
Accountable for reporting suppliers’ non-conformant components and/or materials received, manage Suppliers Quality information, initiate Corrective Actions, recommend actions to prevent defects, and audit potential and/or current suppliers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conducts and/or oversee the supplier qualification, supplier audit, supplier corrective action, inspection, and test processes.
• Involved in receiving inspection and MRB activities as required to ensure that the Supply Base is delivering only conforming items and that any cost incurred as a result of a supplier nonconformance is accumulated so that the Supplier may be charged as appropriate.
• Drives quality activities throughout the Supply Chain working directly with Sourcing, Purchasing and the Suppliers.
• Drive Corrective Actions to eliminate recurring discrepancies.
• Report non-conformances found on components and/or materials received, based on information received from the Quality Engineer.
• Assist/develops suppliers in areas of root cause analysis, problem solving, and process control.
• Ensures that Supply performance is monitored and that appropriate action is taken as a result.
• Aligns Supply Quality activities with Supply Chain/Purchasing organization and strategies.

• Bachelor degree in Engineering; electronics, electrics, mechanical is preferred.
• Minimum experience 5 years in the Quality area, and knowledge in process such as plastics molding, die cast, metal stamping, sheet metal, machining, metal mechanics, materials mechanical properties, Paint and coating processes, metal plating, harness assembly, carton (boxes, trays, etc) fabrication.
• Knowledge on properties and functions on electronic components.
• Reading Drawings, [GD&T, Metrology, AIAG Core Tools de AIAG (preferred if approved online exam). Experience on ASTMs are plus]
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point, etc.), Minitab.
• Experience on 8Ds. FTAs is a plus.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Must have good internal and external communication: person-to-person, to small groups, and other employees.
• Must be objective on his judgement.
• Good skills to write Quality Reports.
• Conflict Management.
• Good level on Reading Engineering Documents such as Work Instructions, Manuals, etc. Be self-taught, and have an interest in reading and research.
• Capable of presenting information to Management, Customers, etc.
• Knowledge on Statistic applied to Engineering; understand Capability Studies, R&R Studies, SPC Charts, and Sampling Plans.
• Certified as ASQ CQA, CQE, CQSP, ASME GD&T Y14.5 is a plus.
