Student Professional Development Consultant

THE ROLE

This position is responsible for the development of RMIT’s high quality and innovative co-curricular professional skills development program, Personal Edge. The Student Professional Development Consultant is responsible for the design, promotion, delivery and evaluation of the Personal Edge program and related activities. The focus is on providing creative and innovative ways to prepare RMIT students for life and work, whilst ensuring maximum student engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Research, design, promote and deliver modules for the Personal Edge program to develop and enhance the professional skills of students across RMIT Vietnam campuses.

Identify suitable internal and external facilitators and monitor and support the development of Personal Edge program content. Ensure module content meets the learning outcomes.

Project manage the delivery of the program in terms of logistics including booking rooms, scheduling and identifying and obtaining required resources, that fall within budget.

Evaluate and utilise program feedback to continually innovate and improve the program. Ensure quality assurance processes are met.

Work collaboratively with the Data Analyst and other relevant staff to collect data on student registration and attendance at workshops. Analyse statistical and other information, as required.

Liaise with relevant academic and professional RMIT staff and industry partners to ensure Personal Edge remains a high profile and prestigious program, both within the University and externally.

Utilise appropriate software to track student attendance, and validate and award Personal Edge accreditation.

Report regularly to the Manager on the progress and outcomes of all relevant activities.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline (Education, Training, Human Resource Development or similar)
At least 4 years of experience in the design, development, delivery, reporting and project management of creative and innovative professional and personal development programs, activities, events and/or training
Sound knowledge and understanding of career development and employability principles and practices, particularly in regards to the needs of tertiary students and recent graduates.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Ability and confidence to speak in public and present to diverse audiences is desirable.
Well-developed interpersonal and networking skills, including negotiation, liaison and cross-cultural communication, for relationship building and consultation with key internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated planning, organisational, budgetary management and problem solving skills with the ability to coordinate and/or implement tasks in a timely fashion.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and flexibly, both independently and as part of a team environment and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

If English is not your native language then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard at a BULATS Intermediate level (BULATS score 65), equivalent to IELTS (General) 6.0. RMIT Vietnam will require you to complete a BULATS test to assess your level of English before an offer of employment can be made.
