This talent will be expected to drive 2 objectives by setting up the diabetes business in Vietnam and the same time functioning as a strategy point-of-contact for Pan-Medtronic. He/She will have the opportunity to become a business unit leader for diabetes in the future.
1) Develop the business strategy and manage the distributor relationship to achieve Medtronic Diabetes revenue and profitability goals. This responsibility extends to the short-term budgeting and planning processes including accountability for daily sales and design of strategic plans.
2) Drive strategic initiatives at the Pan-Medtronic level including public-private partnerships and key accounts management.
A Day in the Life
Objective 1: Diabetes Business Development
• Support the diabetes business unit in developing vision, strategy and sales goals and objectives in Vietnam.
• Manage relationship with local distributors to ensure that the distributor’s sales targets are properly forecasted and met. This should be done in accordance with internal revenue and profitability goals.
• Develop the Five-year strategic plan including evaluation of the attractiveness of the diabetes market and development of new market entry strategies
• Analyze economic, market and competitive data and communicate implications to the leadership team.
• Identify and manage the hiring process of critical sales talent.
• Manage and create business communications and presentations for senior management that fuse financial, performance, strategic and competitive information cohesively
Objective 2: Strategy Function
• Build a strong Medtronic brand and relationship at the Hospital Administrator and C-Suite level at selected key accounts
• Identify key accounts and their needs and key customer and develop public-private partnership proposals that span MDT and drive incremental share and profitability.
• Coordinate the Pan-Medtronic strategic planning process.

• Experience in managing distributor operations is mandatory
• Proven track record of successful sales and marketing experience
• People management experience
• Positive energy and emotional intelligence to energize and engage others
• Life and professional maturity
• Superior negotiation skills
• Ability to effectively collaborate across boundaries in matrix organization structure
• Experience in the diabetes business is preferred
Requirements
Bachelor Degree required. MBA is an advantage

• Exposure to business development skills.
