Sourcing Manager

The Sourcing Manager, Vietnam is responsible for developing and executing the Rheem global strategic sourcing strategy for Supplier Identification, Development, and Qualification activities in Vietnam. The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for new supplier development and managing supplier compliance to Rheem corporate policies, practices, and metrics. Additionally, the Sourcing Manager will assist with supplier audits and factory qualifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

- Cultivate networking opportunities through industry, trade and commerce organizations to widen net of potential vendors.
- Identify potential industry sources for assigned geographic area and make final source recommendations, working with sourcing, engineering and quality teams
- Act as escalation point as sourcing and engineering teams monitor and report on project schedules for completion of key milestones, inputs, and pre-requisites for activities related to project implementations.
- Support supplier negotiations to achieve best in class pricing, supply contracts, and other Rheem terms and conditions for suppliers in assigned markets.

- Update and maintain supplier database to track, report results of vendor identification and qualification as well as savings achieved through new vendors.

- Work with Rheem Group Global Commodity Managers and BU Procurement Managers to extend the use of qualified Vietnamese vendors for supply to Rheem and Paloma globally and domestically.

- Assist New Product Sourcing Managers, Commodity Managers, and Supplier Service Coordinators in the identification, analysis, and interpretation of cost reduction opportunities; with the maintenance and validation of information stored in the general ledger system, with analysis and completion of projects as necessary.

Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field of study from an accredited 4-year school
- Business or Commerce post graduate degree would be highly regarded
- Minimum 7-10 years in Procurement Management roles in Vietnam working in multilingual, manufacturing organisations
- Working knowledge of Manufacturing, International Trading and Business
- Experience working with trade organisations, chambers of commerce or other networking groups would be very highly regarded

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities
- Excellent analysis, communication, reporting and presentation skills including the use of Microsoft Office suite
- The ability to network within trade and commerce organizations, to influence at a senior level, to find/create innovative ways of discovering suitable vendors.
- Good experience in senior sourcing roles in multinationals or large local companies with significant metal (ideally appliance or automotive) manufacturing plants in Vietnam
- A good existing network of suppliers in the metals manufacturing, appliance manufacturing, automotive manufacturing industries.
Languages: Vietnamese and English are must, Preferred additional Chinese or Japanese
