Sourcing Consultant

We design in the USA and manufacture in Asia to offer our retail partners the ideal combination of value and fashion leadership. The Sourcing Consultant reports to the Global Sourcing Director.

The company is headquartered in Putney, Vermont USA with offices in China.

Sourcing Consultant Job Responsibilities:

As Sourcing Consultant, you will work closely with the product development, factory compliance, and quality assurance teams to ensure reliable outcome of design direction provided by home office. You will visit factories throughout Vietnam to assess production viability, conduct market research in various categories and attend trade shows. You will host co-workers visiting from USA and China. You will engage in the product sampling and quote process and provide analysis for on-time delivery of quality products. You will cultivate and manage business relationships with factory leadership that result in high levels of cooperation and continuous improvement.

Only applicants with the following traits need apply:

1. Experience with USA retailers and their requirements: Target, Lowe's, Walmart, Dollar General, TJ-Maxx, etc. Strong Social Compliance experience preferred.
2. Highly proficient business English reading and writing.
3. Experience in arts and crafts, basketwork, woodworks, metalworks, and/or furniture.
4. Familiar with "cottage Industry".

Work Scope:

Sourcing related activities in Vietnam.

Responsibilities and work activities as follows:

1. Supplier identification, qualification, development and relations
2. Product sample development requests and logistics execution
3. Product quotations
4. Quality assurance
5. Basic accounting
6. Frequent travel in Vietnam

Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

1. 5+ years in Sourcing
2. Excellent general office skills, including all Microsoft office applications
3. Strong organizational, communication and negotiation skills
4. Attention to detail and follow through a must
5. Proven experience in working in a team environment and seen as a strong team player
6. Possesses a high level of personal integrity
7. Ability to succeed in a multicultural environment.
8. Availability to work often out of normal business day hours
