SME Credit Underwriting Sr Associate

About The Team
The Risk team plays a crucial role in this business and we are the gatekeepers of the company. As volume builds up, we require experienced hands in ensuring that our credit and risk remain strong.

Target:
● Comply with internal credit policy, product, process, system/platform and local credit regulations;
● Ensure the quality of loans for the whole credit portfolio.

(*). Responsibilities:
● Perform credit assessment of new and existing SMEs borrowers: (i) verify checklist, do KYC, fraud detection; (ii) assess legal status, check and evaluate the validity and legality of the loan; (iii) analyze and evaluate business situations, financial capacity (ratios and cash flow) of customers; (iv) analyze the efficiency of the business, the reasonableness of determining capital needs, assessing risks in debt management; (v) propose for loan decision making.
● Participate in site visits where required;
● Support all related credit operations work including loan disbursements, maintenance of database, compilation of data and preparation of periodic reports to various stakeholders;
● Ongoing monitoring of credit limits and exposures;
● Work closely with Data, Sales, Finance and Investor Relations teams to meet business objectives and internal processes;
● Support other work required by the Chief Risk Officer/Deputy Chief Risk Officer.

(*). Requirements:
● Minimum 3 years relevant experience in SME credit analysis/assessment/underwriting, especially in unsecured lending
● Good command of both spoken and written English;
● Bachelors in Banking/Finance/Commerce/Accounting/Economics/Business Management or relevant disciplines from a reputable university. Master degree from a foreign university would be preferred;
● Good knowledge of law regulations related to credit and credit administration at all credit life cycle;
● Understand market trends for meaningful credit analysis;
● Ability to provide insightful financial statement and cash flow analysis in a clear and concise manner;
● Possess strong analytical and organizational skills;
● Team player yet being able to contribute independently;
● General IT proficiency (CRM, MS Office, GSuite, etc). Proficiency in MS Excel is a must;
● Ability and willingness to perform in a fast-paced start-up environment;
● A thinking-out-of-the-box approach is highly appreciated;
● Good command of both spoken and written English;
● CFA/FRM/CPA holder /equivalent job in local/foreign banks would be preferred.
