Site Engineer

To assist Senior Site Engineer in supervision, checking, inspection and monitoring of civil work carry out by contractor to ensure department objectives and targets are met.
- Perform civil engineering duties in monitoring, checking, inspecting bridges, roads, drainge, sewerage, water supply, electrical pipe conduit, foundations, steel structural work, other building items during and after construction BUT limited to electrical systems
- Report problem occurring at site to his supervisor for further action to be taken if any.
- Check quality of construction material to be delivered to the site.
- Monitoring on Health & Safety Environmental Practices of the contractors.

To assist Senior Site Engineer to monitor closely work progress so as according to schedule.
- Keep track of daily construction activities and work progress carry out by contractor.
- Attend the site meeting conducted by superior with contractor to discuss about work progress.

To assist Senior Site Engineer to liaise and coordinate with various parties in order to get job done satisfactorily.
- Coordinate with land surveyors and representative of VSIP's relevant departments for checking or solving any site issue occurring during construction stage; carry out joint handover inspection when the project completed, monitoring of rectification defect during DLP and end of DLP joint inspection.
- Liaise with consultants and planning and control team on issues related to design and site condition.
- Coordinate with Planning Officer for checking and approval to the material to be used for the project.

To assist Senior Site Engineer in ensuring non-conformity of work done by contractor are fully deal with.

To assist Senior Site Engineer to prepare written report and maintain all site documentation
- Provide an update of site progress data, actual progress photos and actual work done photos for preparation of the bi-weekly progress report during construction. General and keep all site documentation as archives in the project files

To assist Senior Site Engineer to ensure work done by contractor and other quantities are properly verified
- Check and assess the percentage of work done submitted by contractor.

To assist Senior Site Engineer/ Project Management Officer to carry out supervision and coordination including ordering of machinery, labor and material for project which under department's direct supervision.

To perform also other work/ duties as directed by Department Head and Development Director.

1. Knowledge
- Have degree/ diploma in civil engineering and at least 03 years of experience relating supervision of infrastructure work and building work.
- Have knowledge in ISO 9001 and safe work practices.

2. Skills
- Have the ability to read & interpreted project specifications/ construction drawings.
- Have the ability to check, inspect and monitor construction activities especially roads, bridges, dams, canals, structural building & architectural work carried out by contractors are according to contract drawings and specifications.
- Have the ability to plan and organize his duties in order to meet targets and objectives.
- Ability to coordinate with various parties to ensure smooth progress of work.
- Ability to prepare written report and keep proper documentation of project.
- Have computer literacy in MS Office and AutoCAD and other relevant construction software.
- Have presentation skill, communication skill, conflict skill, problem solving and making decision skill and time management skill for the job.
