Senior Software Engineer ( Industrial Systems, N3 Japanese)

Roles & Responsibilities
Conduct software development, maintenance or technology investigation/research projects in the field of application development for Toshiba industrial products (e.g., power system, factory automation systems).
Specific activities include followings (but may not limited at):
• Communicate and discuss directly with customer; periodically go to end-customer side (Japan, Taiwan, China, Korea, etc.) for debugging/testing, discuss to get customer’s requirement
• Establish estimation, propose development solution with customer
• Responsible for implementing, customizing, maintaining & debugging software solution.
• Contribute to test plan & test design; Responsible for developing & executing unit test cases
• Investigate & gather knowledge of new technologies & new industrial business domain to determine software solution and/or conduct domain-specific software engineering.
• Define software detailed design based on software requirement specifications & basic design.
• Responsible for product review on work done by team mates

Education
• Bachelor degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Automation Control Engineering, Electroic & Telecommunication Engineering
• 3-5 year experiences in software development, in which at least 1 year experience in the role of bridge software engineer.

Skills/Experience:
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, both written and verbal in Japanese.
• Have high motivation on software programming in industrial systems (HMI application, control software).
• Firm knowledge of computer science & software engineering (especially, requirement acquisition & analysis, and software design).
• Hand-on experiences & firm knowledge in OOP, computer networking.
• Hand-on advanced experiences/skills in of following programming languages, framework:
o C++ MFC
o C#.Net (Multithreading, Socket)
• Knowledge about automation control, machine & robot operation is significant advantage.
• Foreign language:
o Japanese: N3 Level or Higher
o English: fluently communication

Others:
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills and the ability to pay careful attention to detail.
• High capability of self-studying/investigating new technologies & new business domains on demand.
• Self-awareness, good sense of responsibility, result-oriented and deadline commitment.
• Capacity to work well in groups and a willingness to understand the various roles played by fellow team members.
• Working experiences in software development industry, especially, in offshore companies for Japanese customers is an advantage.
