Senior Seafood QC

Duties performed to ensure products meet with company, customer and industry standards, and are delivered on time and within specification.
• Develop effective relationships with Suppliers, work closely with their Production and QA/QC teams. Liaise with suppliers, organise inspections as per Production Schedule
• Conduct quality inspections and sensory evaluation during production (Production Survey) and prior to shipping (Final Inspection Report), to ensure products are within specification
• Ensure the correct recipe guidelines and formulation controls for products are met during processing
• Audit product quality reports/ CCP records on processing lines to ensure proper grade levels are being recorded and customer requirements are being satisfied.
• Identify problems during production of product lines and resolve quality concerns during production to ensure final products are within specification
• Escalate and inform managers immediately when significant non-conformities / major concerns are identified.
• Ensure any delays to inspections are communicated and confirm when QC checks are completed, and product has passed inspection
• Assist with trials and first production runs of new product, support the Production and Technical Manager

1. Education and Experience
• Food industry experience - minimum 5 years, ideally as a QC Manager or within the product development team
• Must have some verbal and good written English
• Experience with value added products, preferably battered and crumbed fish, gluten free products
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office – Word, Excel
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, ideally in Science (Microbiology, Food Science) or Seafood processing
2. Key Competencies
• Attention to detail and be very good at planning, organizing and time management.
• Good at writing reports
• Must be able to accurately interpret Product Specifications and documentation written in English
• Must have good written communication skills, bilingual - English / Vietnamese. Ability to communicate with colleagues from English and Vietnamese backgrounds
