Senior Process Engineer

** Job scope:
Responsible the definition, development, improvement, stability & sustainability of the following processes:
1. Plastic welding / joining processes using ultrasound (ultrasonic welding), laser (laser welding), heat (heat staking, heat embossing) and others – main processes.
2. Soldering related processes (manual soldering, reflow soldering, wave soldering, selective soldering).
3. PCBA de-panelling processes (PCBA cutting, routing).

** Major Accountabilities:
Responsible for, but not limited to, following tasks:
1. Process definition include.
• preparing & performing machine-process requirement profile and machine-process releases.
• Selecting / evaluating different material.
• Consulting on fixture design & developing process recipe.

2. Process development includes.
• Working with R&D for product design.
• Purchasing & qualifying machines & tools using statistical method (DoE, SPC).
• Working with operational engineer to ensure correct product instruction.
• Validate process-product properties & reliability by using reliability testing methods.

3. Process improvement & standardization includes:
• Troubleshooting & improvement of process recipe.
• Fixture & design for unstable products.
• Performing project for yield improvement.
• Standardization of processes and preventive maintenance with other production locations.

4. Process stability & sustainability includes:
• Handling critical escalation from Production.
• Handling audit & follow-up activities from internal and external customer.
• Troubleshooting / consulting on machine, materials, fixture issues to ensure process stability.
• On demand, prepare & train engineer / technician on operation & preventive maintenance.
• Prepare backup plan to ensure smooth operation in case of breakdown.
• Technology preparation to measure machine capability and process capability.
• On demand, prepare maintenance procedure and checklists.
• Prepare yearly budget for relevant processes.

** Key Performance Indicators:
• Process definition & qualification quality, technology readiness, cost & time during product development process (PEP) to achieve agreed Start of Delivery (SOD).
• Productivity, cost-saving, quality, cost & time target for technology and improvement project.
• Overall machine performance (quality, availability, reliability).
• Troubleshooting & consultancy service quality (response time, ability to identify root cause & provide short- and long-term solution).
• Technology introduction / technology replacement.
• Other KPIs as defined and agreed yearly with direct supervisor.

** Education: Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronic / Mechanical / Electronic / Chemical / Material Engineering or equivalent education.

** Languages:
• Native Vietnamese speaker.
• Proficient in English for both verbal and written communication.
• Proficient in verbal/written German is an added advantage.

** Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in same or similar processes in manufacturing or development environment, preferably electronic / aerospace / automotive assembly.

** Specific Knowledge:
• Both hands-on and in-depth theoretical knowledge in plastic welding processes (ultrasonic / laser / heat).
• Hands-on and knowledge in soldering processes (manual, reflow, wave, selective).
• Understand & possess real-world experience on key statistical analysis tools (e.g. DoE, SPC) and able to demonstrate & adapt it to different scenarios.
• Understand preventive maintenance methodology & execution.
• Have project management skill.
• Hand-on and knowledge in PCBA de-panelling processes (e.g. cutting & routing).
• Hand-on in programming (e.g. C, Java, HTML, Visual Basic).
