About This Opportunity
Responsible for business development, sourcing, placement, shipment and post-shipment processes for designated merchandising area(s) and geographic market(s) by partnering with global sourcing teams, business partners and cross functional teams (CFT).

Use your skills, experience and talents to be a part of Owned Brand Sourcing & Development, Global Sourcing and visionary goals. As a COP Senior Merchandiser (Country of Production), you will:

• Identify potential business partners by pre-screening their production capacity, capabilities and business expectations; guides new business partners through Vetting and On-boarding process.
• Develop and maintain close contact with Headquarter (HQ) counterparts and CFT to ensure implementation of their strategies, goals and objectives.
• Schedules overseas travel itineraries for Buyers/Corporate Merchants and escorts them to their vendor visits to ensure product development and sourcing objectives are executed and achieved.
• Utilize cross functional partnerships to manage and elevate the performance of the matrix in COP, to ensure business partners follow all Target requirements and standards and meet program timing and action (T&A).
• Keeps all working partners abreast of potential issues/delays and help to find creative solutions
• Interprets, analyzes and executes objectives with vendors/Quality Assurance team to ensure sourcing objectives are met
• Conduct Toll gate meeting after Business awards to walk thru the program details, capacity and capability validation for program, key highlights, the risk/ concern call outs and mitigation plan and the follow ups by CFT and BPs.
• Responsible for post-placement follow-up and ensure vendor timing and action (VTA) is complete and accurate to meet quantity, quality, product specifications and delivery requirements.
• Works with Quality Assurance team to manage and solve issues to ensure quality and on time delivery
• Communicate market intelligence, country overview & updates to assist Manager in identifying product category opportunities and new potentials to support matrix exploration and expansion for business needs.
• Promote OBS&D focus areas and link own work to Target Corporation’s vision and values.

• Bachelor's degree in foreign trade/supply chain management or equivalent
• 5 years of sourcing and/or merchandising experience in hard-lines and home
(Home décor, Handicraft, Furniture, Ceramics, Lighting, Kitchen, Cable, Electronics, etc.)
• Work experience for buying office or trading company.
• Moderate level of market and industry knowledge within the relevant geographic area
• Technical knowledge of product patterns will be an advantage
• Strong ability to cost specific product categories
• Knowledge of global trade, shipment and payment
• Independent and works well with others
• Strong problem solving, planning and organizational skills
• Result oriented, self-motivated, dedicated and committed to continuous learning
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Must be proficient in both written and spoken English
• Advanced Computer skills and able to use all relevant tools and systems
