Key Purpose of the Job:
• This role is responsible for maximizing the efficiency of the assigned sourcing area by managing the strategic relationship with Vendors and material suppliers with focus on adherence to quality standards, on time performance, automation and manufacturing efficiency while ensuring compliance with VF Responsible Sourcing principles.
• Lead, and coach Production Ops. Team to ensure that Vendors meet or exceed product quality expectations, delivery timelines and customer requirements.
• Become integrated into every aspect of assigned partner factories. Assist and support Production Ops. initiatives, ensuring PRIDE and VF Responsible Sourcing requirements are fully implemented and maintained in our partner factories.
Key Areas of Responsibility
• Develop and elevate the competencies of team members under his/her structure on a regular basis, by coaching and providing feedback to drive high performance and improvement in competencies
• Partners with Planning to determine the most appropriate product allocation, factory capacity booking and production plans to ensure that they are viable and realistic
• Establish strategic plan to achieve OGSM goals, define the actions and resources needed to accomplish strategic initiatives.
• Accountable for the performance of Vendors, engage with the Director of Production Operations to evaluate vendor’s performance against goals.
• Establish a plan to ensure successful implementation of “New Product Introduction” model, including specific actions associated to NPI.
• Lead Production Ops. Team to execute all pre-production and production related activities in the assigned factories including adherence with quality standards, “On Time Performance”, and Responsible Sourcing principles.
• Effective communication skills to engage with all departments, including Global Material Supply, Product Development, METS, and PRIDE/Lab along with factory teams to execute the buys & mass production.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Commercialization
• Evaluate construction complexity against factory capacity and capability, provide suggestions to maximize factory efficiency and delivery continued performance
• Determine resources required including Vendor’s skill set and competencies
Production & Quality
• Liaise with FW Director of QA & Ops. to ensure vendors adhere with PRIDE standards
• Build an effective relationship/partnership with Vendors to delivering exceptional results against Production Ops. OGSM and metrics captured on Monthly Dashboard
• Manage and develop all members of his/her QA team to ensure all key initiatives are met in all areas related to Responsible Sourcing, PRIDE, Automation, and OG Mold Prevention initiatives.
• Enforce implementation of SOP’s to optimize the production process with factories
• Work with Vendors, material suppliers and GMS team to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Liaise with the Planning Team to ensure on time delivery and reliability targets are met and factory daily throughput activities are kept on time
• Make day to day decisions within defined scope, account for production area with defined scope of responsibilities

Minimum Academic Requirement: University or College
Major Subject: Business or related
Required Professional Qualification:
1) University/College degree/diploma or above
2) Production Management experience in footwear or related field with a multinational company
3) Good command of English language and excellent communication skills
4) Good computer skills in Windows operating environment (Office, Word, Excel, etc.)
5) Good Management, coaching and teamwork skills
Required Oral Language:
- Excellent English
- Good Vietnamese
- Good Chinese
Required Written Language: Strong written capability in English, Chinese and Vietnamese.
Competencies, skills set, and abilities:
• Proven management experience including to coach, mentor, develop, and motivate effective team within a department
• Influence beyond his/her direct control (i.e.Commercialization & Product Development) through personal credibility
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Equipped with VF Competencies for “People Leader” specifically Coaching & Developing others, Driving Execution, Communication and Driving for results.
• Technical background and knowledgeable in vulcanized and cold cement footwear constructions, footwear engineering and mold making
• Comfortable to work within matrix management in a multicultural/multinational organization
• Excel on coaching, mentoring and motivating talent.
• Must have branded footwear experience
• Manage & cultivate effectively relationships with factory partners
• Strategically minded individual
• Possess effective negotiation skills
• Change management – Must be able to influence and drive change
• Analytical and process driven
• The candidate needs to have a minimum of 9 years’ footwear experience in the areas of production and quality, ideally working with a high volume premium branded footwear operation.
