PRIMARY FUNCTION
Develop fabrics that support Target's Brand Promise and drive differentiation in our owned brand assortment. Responsible for managing a matrix of suppliers and providing innovative solutions to technical issues in development and production.
Fabric Sourcing with Technical Expertise
• Responsible for driving strategic relationships and matrix management activities within a defined supplier and facility matrix for a category.
• Work with leaders in our Global Sourcing and Fabric Sourcing areas to develop strategic mill partners in alliance with our vendors
• Drive day to day interactions with business partners that ensure understanding of Target’s business needs, processes, and strategies and drive preference.
• Engage in new supplier vetting and recommendations for onboarding new suppliers to Target’s material matrix.
• Provide business intelligence such as industry or competitor insights that will influence Target’s short and long term strategies.
• Collaborates with Minneapolis based sourcing team to drive fabric cost negotiations that maximize value.
• Apply analysis of fabric cost drivers and raw material markets to negotiations strategies.
• Manage the fabric procurement process including strategic capacity planning, lead times, and order placement.
• Engage in creative problem solving with cost, contingency or liability resolution in collaboration with mills, vendors, and garment sourcing teams.

Yêu cầu ứng viên
• Degree holder with 5 years of sourcing, merchandising, and/or retail experience
• Preferred Fabric Merchandising Manager or equivalent experience
• Technical product knowledge in fabric or yarn preferred
• Strong aptitude to think strategically and conceptually
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Strong financial and quantitative analysis skills
• Technical product knowledge including testing and engineering
• Knowledge of vendor/mill manufacturing
• Performance or intimates experience preferred.
• Able to travel frequently, up to 25% of time
• Language: fluent in English and local language
• Preferred Fabric Merchandising Manager or equivalent experience
• Technical product knowledge in fabric or yarn preferred
• Strong aptitude to think strategically and conceptually
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Strong financial and quantitative analysis skills
• Technical product knowledge including testing and engineering
• Knowledge of vendor/mill manufacturing
