School Nurse (Temporary 6 Months Contract)

(a) take charge when someone is injured or becomes ill and give immediate help to casualties with common injuries or illnesses and those arising from any specific unexpected hazards at school;
(b) when necessary, ensure that an ambulance or other professional medical help is summoned and the student / teacher is transported to the designated clinic of choice;
(c) take care of all first aid equipment and ensure adequate supplies of first aid materials are available in the nurse’s room and that all first aid boxes for use on field trips are properly stocked;
(d) check the hair of all students in the event of cases of head lice and advise parents of appropriate action;
(e) if aware of any contagious disease at school, advise the Principal immediately so that parents may be informed;
(f) conduct periodic checks of the school environment including the canteen and food preparation area and report to the Principal any Health and Safety issues of concern;
(g) maintain a complete record of accidents and treatment in the appropriate “accident report” book and advise parents of the nature of the accident and treatment administered;
(h) administer medication on the written instructions of parents;
(i) be fully aware of any allergies that students may have and be prepared to respond appropriately in an emergency;
(j) to make sure that pupils are healthy and safe on the school premises. In exceptional circumstances, this could extend to administering medicine and/or taking action in an emergency, after consultation with the parents when this is possible.

 Nursing Diploma or degree qualification from recognized Colleges
 Licensed to practice nursing in Vietnam
 At least 1 year working experience
 Caring, responsible, and detail oriented.
 Must be able to correctly assess patients' conditions, and determine when consultation is required.
 Emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses.
 Good command of English
