The Sales Manager will bring strong business to the Hotel through sourcing, negotiating and winning MICE Sales Accounts or Catering Sales Accounts to generate effective revenue.
Be responsible for designated account base.
Input all data in system for appropriate account management follow up and tracing.
Develop Sales action plan to target key accounts and have agreed with Director of Sales.
Organize and report weekly sales call plan and weekly entertainment plan to Director of Sales.
Establish a regular core pattern for meeting with principals of target markets and conduct site inspections within the Hotel.
Develop and retain talents especially those who directly report to you on day to day basis.
Work towards monthly budgets and report progress against targets in the sales meetings.
Maintain regular contact with the Marriott Sales Offices where appropriate submit sales leads within the Marriott network.
Assist in developing and implementation direct mail campaigns.
Monitor guests/ clients services and operational requirements in order to identify short falls in the operation
Co-operate with other sections and departments.
Set joint objectives and goals with Director of Sales within appropriate time frames and measure performance against objectives.
Identify opportunities for value added services to increase sales profitability and anticipate client needs.
Demonstrate effective selling techniques in promoting Marriott products and services.
Demonstrate effective verbal and non-verbal communication skill.
Ensure guest comments are recorded in guest history record and acted on when appropriate.
Assist Director of Sales in preparing monthly outlook/ forecast.
Monitor account activity and make adjustments when necessary.
Implement cost saving methods for the department in line with corporate policy.
Negotiate contracts only with approved suppliers as per corporate management policy and procedures.
Participate in the preparation of the Strategic Business Plan.
Submit recommendation for capital expenditure, equipment and personnel requirements.
Seek opportunities to continually improve client service.
Monitor all product and performance standards and ensure action is taken when standards are not being met.
Act on potential client complaints and report to appropriate personnel.
Compile daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.
Analyses reports and make recommendations.
Undertake additional duties as requested by the Department Head and Hotel Management.
Deliver enthusiastic, positive, helpful and respectful client communication, ensuring precise and effective information transfer.
Address client queries within 24 hours of initial contact and follow up within 24 hours of sending proposals.
Ensure recovery calls are dealt with in appropriate manner.
