Safety Manager

• To play a key role in the development of the company’s health and safety strategy and to lead the planning and roll out of the strategy across all business units and operational areas of the Company.
• Provide guidance and support to the GM and HODs to ensure compliance with all legislation, regulations, company policy and SOP.
• Provide guidance, support and recommendations on matters of health and safety, known and emerging risks, recommendations for change, training needs, international best practice.
• To champion a positive health and safety culture, through a collaborative and partnership approach, ensuring that health and safety is correctly positioned in the business.
• To design and drive the Company’s health and safety policies, ensuring consistent application across all Companys in the system.
• To identify health and safety training needs, roll-out training solutions and evaluate the effectiveness of training.
• To identify and manage the need for PPE and safety equipment.
• To lead the Company’s Safety Team, engage with wider internal employees and management groups to ensure the effectives of the Committee.
• To support managers to maintain safe systems of work and implement best practice, including providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support as needed.
• To work with managers and employees to ensure risk assessments are prepared and reviewed as necessary.
• To manage the control of contractors working within the Company.
• To assist HODs in implementing Health and Safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, such as accident reporting, hazardous substances management, equipment SOP in a consistent and effective manner.
• To carry out audits to evaluate the effectiveness of Health and Safety systems and procedures, and identify and implement improvements.
• To investigate or, where appropriate, to assist others to investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents and provide guidance on the implementation of corrective measures to prevent a recurrence, including keeping written records of the investigation and action taken.
• To manage the collection, storage and analysis of accident reports, incident investigations and other health and safety data and to produce management reports, identify trends and recommend action.
• To work with the Company’s F&B team to ensure that activity and policy across health & safety and food safety is aligned.
• To manage the efficient operation of the First Aid team, ensuring response and delivery is fit-for-purpose.
• To play a lead role (working with other key managers) in the development and implementation of the Business Continuity, Incident Response and Major Incident plans.
• To develop and maintain an external health & safety network across similar organisations, contributing to industry forums to keep up-to-date with industry development.

* Age: 30 – 45
* Degree: Bachelor's degree and/or comparable life experience.
* Skills:
• Minimum 3 years experience in a safety managerial role.
• An understanding and interest in the hospitality/ attractions industry (Hospitality/ Attractions industry experience is desirable.)
• A basic understanding of the technical / engineering requirements associated with the operations of a theme Company.
• Team development and training delivery experience
• Influencing and negotiating skills, stakeholder management skills.
• Accident / incident investigation
• Reporting and data analysis
• Knowledge of Health & Safety Management systems
• Experience writing SOPs, guides and checklists.
• Ability to speak and write in English language well.
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, computer proficiency, and creative thinker.
• Must be professional, energetic, self-motivated, have the ability to motivate others, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to handle multiple situations simultaneously and meet deadlines in an efficient manner.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and Holidays.
