Safety, Health and Environment Officer

• Ensure document implementation control and maintenance of Integrated Management system of Rheem Vietnam in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001.

Safety, Health and Environment
• Play an active and practical role in identifying actual and potential SHE problem areas, and developing and implementing appropriate solutions.
• Participate in incident investigations as required. Ensure near-miss reporting is maintained. Assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions.
• Provide Job Safety Training and ensure Risk Assessments are prepared for all routine and non-routine workplace stations.
• Develop contractor training programs including site risk assessments and Safe Work Method Practices, contractor training and workplace monitoring policies.
• Hazard Alert System
o Receive, record and file hazard alerts.
o Follow up on all hazard alerts through meetings with production and engineering personnel to ensure that corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
o Assist in developing and implementing corrective actions.
o Maintain a secure, accurate and up to date hazard register.
• Inspections and audits
o Arrange and conduct regular Area Safety Inspections.
o Participate in the STOP safety programs.
o Receive, record and file all inspection and audit reports.
o Follow up on inspections and audits to ensure that corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
• Pressure Vessels
o Ensure records are maintained and all explosive vessels have current certification.
• Fire Extinguishers and Hose Reels.
• Conduct regular audits of fire extinguishers and fire hose reels.
• Update and maintain numbering system for fire extinguishers and fire hose reels.
• Participate in Area Safety Meetings and assist with resolution of outstanding issues.
• Conduct routine training such as Safety, Forklift management systems, First Aid, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and industrial hygiene.
• Maintain and upgrade the system of safety signs and posters across the site.
• Check and maintain correct stock levels in first aid kits around site and personal protective equipment delivery.
• Participate in project work groups for new production equipment, new products & processes. Provide SHE input and assist with risk assessments for such projects.
• Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant SHE legislation, standards and codes of practice.
• Assist in maintaining secure, accurate, and up to date SHE records, including:
o Hazard alerts and corrective actions.
o Risk assessments, inspections and audits.
o SHE training.
• Environmental Compliance
o Reporting of waste volumes.
o Maintain environmental Aspects & Impacts register for the site.
o Waste disposal compliance.
o Pollution prevention compliance.
• Environmental Management System
o Develop and maintain the Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO14001 requirements.
o Participate in the development and maintenance of the Integrated Management System.
• Waste Management and Reduction Program
o Monitor and report on solid and liquid waste volumes.
o Manage the solid and liquid waste disposal contracts for the site.
o Maintain and develop recycling programs for:
 Cardboard & paper;
 Plastics;
 Glass, plastic and metal bottles & cans etc.
o Manage the implementation of a liquid waste treatment system.
o Identify, develop and implement new measures for reducing waste.
• Waste Water Treatment Management
• Implementation of the Wastewater Treatment System and compliance below industrial Class B discharge regulation.
• Implement procedures to ensure all sanitation and discharge water is within Government limits.
• Ensure 100% first time wastewater treatment measurements within Government requirements.
• Pollution Prevention Program
o Conduct regular inspections and audits.
o Develop and implement control measures for all areas of risk.
• Soil Remediation Program
o Act as site contact person in relation to Rheem soil remediation program.
o Ensure the site earth and ground water is not affected by manufacturing processes.
o Liaise with all relevant parties – contractors, Rheem management, Rheem production personnel.

• At least 5-7 years experienced in Safety, Health and Environment Management. (Preferable mechanic industry).
• Certificate of Internal Auditor of ISO 14001 and/or OHSAS 18001.
• Good root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action skill.
• Good communication and writing in English and Vietnamese.
• A strong commitment to OHS and environmental compliance in the workplace.
• Bachelor degree in Engineering/Science/Environment
• Master Degree or PhD is a plus.
