ABOUT THE JOB

Perfetti Van Melle - one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide - is seeking for a passionate and enthusiastic Regulatory Affairs Specialist
Work location: Binh Duong Factory (Bus company from HCM City)

Purpose of the Role:

- Ensure full compliance of PVM confectionery products (mainly chewing gum, candies) with laws and technical standards applicable to Food Industry as well as Group’s policies. Territories involved: Vietnam
- Support in the compliance process check of ingredients and raw materials for some export countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, Middle East.
- Main activities are related to: food and labelling, advertisements, toys.
- Requirements for the role: knowledge of food and labelling laws, problem solving, accuracy, flexibility, communication skills, providing advice, confidentiality, manage complexity.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will be responsible for:

1. Monitor and study food and labeling regulations/standards and their possible revisions (related to local market);
2. Set up appropriate means to ensure constant update on regulatory topics of interest (e.g. through legislative monitoring services or trade associations or consultants….);
3. Share information on food and labelling legislation/standards with other functions within the organization;
4. Work closely with Marketing in order to support projects and issue advice on use of claims and other regulatory matters;
5. Support R&D providing advice on additives, flavorings, raw materials and food law;
6. Ensure the legal compliance of products with national food legislation/standards of the territory involved (preparing ingredient lists, nutritional information, checking raw materials, labels, claims, pictorials….);
7. Prepare and issue ingredient lists and nutrition information upon recipe shared by P&T;
8. Provide advice on claims and projects;
9. Check the product labels providing the final approval according to local regulations to ensure the compliance;
10. Support in liaising with associations and authorities when necessary, coordinating such activities with Regulatory Manager;
11. Support in the preparation on administrative activities (preparation of documents such as certifications) required by national authority/Customs to import/sell products;
12. Support in providing advice on advertisement and promotional material;
13. Support in checking and providing advice on projects related to toys to ensure the product safety in coordination with Regulatory manager and Group Regulatory;
14. Support in managing data collection, raw material checks and ingredient list preparation for export markets different from Vietnam.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

We need you to have:

• 4 years' experience in Regulatory Affairs in multinational companies operating in the food industry
• Degree in Food Science or Chemistry
• Thorough knowledge of food laws with a specific focus on labelling and additives
• Fluent English
• Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines
• Good communication skills
• Effectively cooperates and communicates across the company
• High degree of self-organization and detail-orientation
• Analyzes context and issues
• Manages confidential information
• Quick learner of new concepts in different areas
• Combines scientific knowledge with legal aspects
