Recreation & Activity Manager

• Be visible and accessible to the guest and follow through.
• Effective utilization of guest profiles and consistent delivery of guest preferences.
• Maintains strong relationship and goodwill with regular guests and local patrons.
• Deals with all membership enquiries, membership sales and renewals in line with prearranged targets and administers bookings and payments where necessary.
• Ensures all complaints are dealt with promptly and efficiently and in confidence, initiating corrective actions if required
• Empowers all team members to deal with customer complaint within their limits.
• Reports any guest complaints to the immediate manager and ensures that they are logged
• Ensures all customer feedback (guest questionnaires, verbal comments, emails, etc.) is used to inform changes in practice and provides staff training or corrective actions to ensure high standards are maintained
• Manages and controls preventative maintenance to all pool plants and coordinates the Engineer or outside contractors as required.
• Implements opportunities for managing operational costs and boosting the operating profit
• Observes environmentally friendly practices to reduce our consumption of gas and electricity, waste to landfill, etc.
• Organizes and promotes activities to meet customer demand
• Leads, directs and supervises the team in creating an outstanding experience for the customers so that customers are greeted in a professional, friendly, and timely manner
• Ensures guests receive a warm welcome to the premises
• Recognizes regular guests and anticipates their needs and requirements
• Assists guests, or visitors in offering and providing accurate information in a courteous manner
• Consistently develops, promotes and grows retail sales and services through training, tools and monitoring.
• Achieves financial objectives by monitoring weekly membership, day visitors and beauty treatment bookings, monthly and annual budget; analyzing variances, and maximizing results in the area of sales, merchandising and operations.
• Maintains a strong menu of services with both exceptional artistic and aesthetic value.
• Ensures that all reasonable care is taken of the health and safety of guests within the Pool
• Delivers some fitness training or coaching in sports activities - often a good way of maintaining contact with customers
• Provides gym assessments and fitness programs for members and customers as required.
• Ensures that operating equipment is kept in good working order.
• Assists in developing strong communication channels among team members.
• Ensures integrity and confidentiality of information at all times.
• Supports and encourages empowerment among team members.
• Provides directions which is aligned with departmental and resort objectives.
• Conducts daily follow up to ensure standards of quality and service are in place.
• Takes appropriate actions to corrects any deficiency.
• Encourages employees to provide innovative ideas. Supports and follows through with implementation of new ideas.
• Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
• Logs incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements
• Checks that items supplied are to the quantity and the quality demanded and advises the management of any discrepancies.
• To be aware of all material and household supplies and expenditure and to encourage staff to avoid unnecessary waste.
• Manages maintenance, insurance, repairs and cleaning of all equipment
• Manages purchasing equipment and supplies and keeping stock records
• Prepare budget and monthly forecasting

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: College Degree or above
LANGUAGE: Vietnamese - Excellent level, written & spoken English - Good level, written & spoken
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE: Computer Skills, Problem solving skills, swimming skills,
WORK EXPERIENCE IN OTHER COMPANIES (IN CASE OF EXTERNAL SELECTION): At least 2 years in international hotels in the same position.
WORK EXPERIENCE IN MELIA HOTELS INTERNATIONAL (IN CASE OF INTERNAL PROMOTION): 1 year in the same position in hotels of similar category and services.
