Quality Assurance / Controller - Softlines

The QA is responsible of ensuring the quality of our productions by checking the samples that are sent to Spain, doing the quality inspections at the factories and always informing the Merchandiser/hierarchy about the problems, and helping to find solutions to them. They must follow and understand Company and brands Quality Standards and Protocols.

The QA must do the Quality Reports and corrective action plans of all the inspections/checks and issue on time to manufacturers/ merchandisers and keep updated records in the company system (quality module).

The QA also responsible to support new sourcing by assessing new factories or supporting a complex new development with designers and buyer.

• Understand and follow our Quality Protocols and the quality needs of our brands.
• Support suppliers/ factories during the development of new items and samples to be sent to Buyers/ Designers
• Check and control the garment samples to be sent to buyers/designers. Must inform the Merchandiser/BDM of any problem before send to HQs. Issue complete report
• Analyse and control the possible problems, and offer/ propose solutions.
• Monitor that samples approved are not suffering any structural deviation that could affect the production.
• Follow up the samples to be sent for Lab testing and its results.
• Collaborate with the Merchandiser team and suppliers to organize and schedule the inspections at the factories.
• Before starting the production, control that fabrics and trims of the production are ready and as per requirements, and approved by the buyers. (initial inspection)
• Control the quality of our productions in the factory. (Inline Inspections)
• Issue the report and corrective plan to factory/supplier.
• Control that the factory understands and execute correctly and on time all Company requirements including labels, packaging, hangers, alarms etc.
• Create the Quality Control Reports and upload it to the system.
• If there is any important problem, found in a production the QA must inform the Merchandiser and BDM immediately.
• Check and help merchandiser to transfers and follow the comments, change requests and incidents of quality from buyer/designer to supplier/factory during sampling processes
• Check that the suppliers are not having any kind of issues that risk the production at their factories.
• Visit new factories to assess the facilities and if they can supply the quality that we need for our productions.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE & GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Proven experience of more than 3 years in textiles quality control: fabrics, trims, accessories and garments.
Proven experience working in garments manufacturers and extensive knowledge of production and workmanship.
Previous Experience with foreigner’s brands, European/American is highly valuated

Knowledge and Tech Skills
• Good level of technical knowledge and technology of the garments and their development
• Knowledge to optimize costs by replacing secondary accessories with more economical ones (ribbons, interlinings, threads, zippers, etc )
• Knowledge of fabrics and accessories (lining, shoulder pads, reinforcement tapes etc ........)
• Good level of knowledge of fabric cutting, thermofixing, sewing on machine, iron and machinery that is being used in factories
• Support and participation with suppliers when making the samples that will be sent to Purchases in Spain and during the process of making the order
• Visits in the production lines and control of intermediate manipulations to suppliers' factories
• Attend and respond to technical inquiries of suppliers during the manufacturing process
• Knowledge of transport packaging that will preserve quality to the final destination
