QC Structural and Welding Engineer

• Develop welding techniques, including but not limited to procedures, processes and handbooks as required.
• Prepare Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), welder list, welder cards and certificates.
• Prepare a Continuous Improvement Plan for Welding, Hull Fabrication, Accommodation and Fit out.
• Prepare Project Quality Plan, Inspection and testing plan, Non Destructive testing (NDT) plan, etc. for project in regard to Welding, Hull Fabrication, Hull Erection, Tank & Testing, Accommodation and Fit out
• Prepare request for testing service samples carried out by the third parties (Non Destructive testing, Destructive testing, etc. ); monitor the third parties’ activities and review their reports.
• Review and advise on technical specifications, drawings and procedures for Welding, Hull Fabrication, Hull Erection, Tank & Testing, Accommodation and Fit out.
• Liaise with the Classification Society and/or Client for material testing, inspection, commissioning, sea trials, and/or when any other third party activity is required.
• Liaise with other departments and external parties (Classification Society, Client, Vendors, or any other third parties, etc.) to resolve all quality issues.

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architect, Welding or Engineering.
• Strong strategic and conceptual skills with the ability to execute and follow through.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement of the processes, policies, standards.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and accident investigation.
• Fluent in English and Vietnamese (spoken and written).
• Able to work with Microsoft Office as other industry standard computer programs.
• Experience working with Subcontractors.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Candidates with Shipbuilding experience are preferred.
