QA Manager – SE Asia

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The QA Manager – SE Asia is responsible for: 1) ensuring that products sourced from SE Asia suppliers comply with Crayola specifications and the safety requirements of the distribution market and their 2) ensuring that Crayola factories in SE Asia comply with Crayola Code of Conduct and facility requirements (Quality management system, global security, and plant sanitization).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the QA process for purchased finished product sourced from SE Asia. Partner with Sourcing and Supply Chain to ensure that sourced products meet specifications. Network externally to identify and implement best practices for supplier quality.
• Manage the the supplier qualification and management program, including corporate social responsibility, quality management, microbial management and Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism.
• Provide input on the quality assurance plan for new products to the Staff QA Professional – New Products. Identify product quality risks throughout the product development process and communicate to product development team
• Negotiate and resolve issues with Supplier leadership. Effectively communicate product quality requirements to factory management/labor. Lead structured problem solving teams to identify root cause and implement permanent corrective actions in response to supplier quality issues.
• Provide coaching and guidance to managed suppliers on quality system development, tier 2 supplier development, problem solving, production test plans, in process QA/QC, regulatory testing and Crayola product technical requirements.

Decision Making Capabilities:
• What processes do we need in place to ensure continued compliance to US law and customer requirements?
• What process do we need to monitor and address sourced finished product and vendor quality issues?
• Determines the compliance of raw materials, work-in-process, and/or finished goods to established component/product specifications.
• Reports inspection results to the Crayola Global QA team.
• Determines the appropriate test methods to confirm that SE Asia sourced products perform as intended.

• B.S. degree required in an engineering discipline preferred.
• Three to five years experience in quality assurance/manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of statistical methods required.
• Ability to interpret product specifications and drawings.
• Proficiency in the use of laboratory and metrology equipment.
• Proficient in use of statistical analysis tools.
• Ability to interpret testing procedures and develop test reports based on findings.
• Good written, oral and problem-solving abilities required.
