QA Manager

GENERAL FUNCTION:

To implement and manage the company Quality Management System (QMS) and supervise Chief Inspectors as designated at manufacturing facilities.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
1 Participate in strategic goal setting resource needs.
• Maintain annual MBO’s for all staff in alignment with divisional goals.
• Verify resource needs at each location and participate in new hire process working within the divisional budget guidelines.
• Develop Root Cause solutions with factories to fully close non-compliant issues.
• Participate in the Dispute Resolution Process as they arise.
2. Maintain company Quality Management System (QMS).
• Follow guidelines in WWW Quality Manual and Procedures.
• Adhere to in-process Work Instructions.
• Supervise and conduct Internal Audits.
• Create a documentation discipline for all programs.
• Issue and close Corrective Actions as necessary.
3. Track every purchase order by adhering to the Critical Paths.
• Reconfirm x/f dates of all purchase orders 30 days in advance.
• Notify Director of Quality Assurance of all missed Critical Path dates.
• Create and publish “Shipment Delays” indicating reasons and changes.
4. Implement and preserve our “Working Model”
• Factory must be clean and organized.
• All six flow chart inspection points must be fully operational.
• Post manufacturing requirements at all operations in local language.
• Cuts, fits, lasts, and boxes in pairs.
• Packaging and shipping details must be correct.
5. Participate in Die-Cut Fit Trails (T4) for all new programs.
• Die-Cut Fit Size Checklist must be in total compliance.
• Pairs flown to Rockford for pre-approval prior to shipping.
• Full and complete paperwork must be sent with all Die-Cut fit sizes (T4).
• Handbook inspection checklists are completed during die-cut fit trials.
6. Manage the inspection of incoming materials. Specifically leather, outsoles, inserts and boxes.
• Refer to incoming materials checklist in QA handbook.
• Check for Certificates of Conformance from supplier.
7. Review and interpret all factory checklists by purchase order daily.
• Refer to checklists in the QA Handbook.
• All checklist failures must be corrected immediately.
8. Assumes full responsibility for final inspection of all purchase orders.
• Must audit 10% of all purchase orders.
• Check finished shoes against confirmation sample and spec sheet.
• Final inspection forms must be retained as permanent record.
9. Check all shipping details prior to container loading.
• All shipping cartons must have licensee plates.
• All mixed cases must be identified with orange “mixed” label sticker.
• Packing lists must accurately reflect contents of the container.
• Complete shipping checklist in QA handbook.
10. Test all initial purchase orders (3.3) and monitor on-going production (3.4 1:10,000)
• Refer to the Test Requirements Form for completed shoes.
• Every style must have daily bond test results on file.
• High profile constructions (all, water proof, steel toes, ESD) must have approved lab test results prior to shipping per purchase order and kept on file in CFS Inspection office.
• Fit test all production shoes on a daily basis from the production line.
11. Implement ambitious training programs for all new staff on WWW quality procedures.
• Increase knowledge of general shoemaking to all new personnel.
• Teach inspectors to understand all phases of this position description.
• Stress customer service initiatives and proper use of Corrective Action Forms.
12. Strives for maximum performance by developing monthly projects to continuously improve product quality.
• Chief inspectors need to “trouble shoot” issues to a satisfactory conclusion.
• Develop ways to improve operations and products at our respective factories.
13. Cooperates (Manages) with CFS Inspection Operations.
• Works with CFS inspectors when non-conformances are discovered.
• Closes all Corrective Action Plans with the factory issued by CFS.
• If key function is Managing CFS Inspection then refer to the CFS Manual and Quality Inspections Procedures (QIP’s).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Language and communication:
- Fluent in English and local language, oral and written
- Open communication at all levels in the organization

Education and background
- Education within quality assurance and/or technology
- Management training and experience
- Experience from manufacturing of high volume products

- Able to ensure management and implementation of tasks and projects

- 13th month salary
- Obligatory SHUI insurance as required by Vietnam government and commercial insurance
- 15 annual leave days per year and 1 day off for Christmas Holiday
