Purchasing & Logistics Manager

1. Purchasing goods and service
- Watching the market trends and developments and spotting important factors and the influence of said factors on the company
- Carrying out (preparing) negotiations with suppliers, placing orders and finalizing contracts within the mandate.
- Composing a purchase planning in with the requisitioner’s consultancy.
- Evaluating progress of supplies, signalling structural problems and discussing issues with the relevant supplier.
- Managing an adequate purchasing administration/budget and the signalling of the supply time.
- Making proposals for the benefit of purchasing programmes when purchasing meetings are held. Finding out whether fixed price agreements can be connected to products
- Keeping in contact with a number of suppliers of material groups; composing the purchasing policy for the entire company and initiates yearly agreements.
- Composing framework/annual frame contracts.
- Informing the product group on ‘new’ products in the market and their application
- Confirming purchasing orders made by the purchasers and assistant purchaser.
- Maintaining relations with suppliers, visiting openings, receptions, visiting exhibitions etc.

2. Import & export
- Closely checking and following up status of all import shipments and prioritizes according to the arrival date to avoid any arising costs.
- Managing import export activity to obtain declaration, tax refund certificate, permit.
- Controlling delivery orders and container deposits from the shipping lines upon goods arrival.
- Managing truck/barge/ship to transport material/new built vessel.

3. Storage and internal transportation
- Managing scheme to store material in proper way.
- Managing the transportation for the material at right place and right time as Work preparation/MC/Project manager’s requirement.
- Collaborating with other departments, particularly in relation to the warehouse to make plan to deliver the materials to shops and other working places.

5. Employee Performance
- Allocating work activities, discussing results/ progress and how to achieve the targets
- Managing and guiding the purchasers/customs team/ warehouse team leader.

6. Report to Technical Manager

Training, experience and other requirements
- Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in a managerial position.
- Completed Bachelor or Master Degree in Ecomonics, shipbuilding or relating majors.
- Good English skill
