Purchase and Payable Accountant (Temporary 7 Months)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A - General
- Develop and maintain strong relationship and networks with both internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to RMIT staffs, vendors, suppliers and tax authorities;
- Ensure high performance through daily activities with a focus on increasing the efficiency of current processes

B - Accounts Payable
- Enter source transactions in proper General Ledger accounts, reconcile bank transactions with the books, and make adjusting journal entries in consultation with Accounting Manager.
- Manage for all transactions relating to Corporate Credit card including payment, credit card issuance and related credit card matter.
- Manage University’s cash position to ensure that day to day banking functions are completed and all payment requirements are met.
- Monitor the issuance of cheques to staff who have overseas travel and the safeguard of any unused cheques.
- Prepare weekly report on cash position at the bank.
- Liaise with relevant bank/credit card agent when appropriate.
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

C - Control and Compliance
- Manage all payment records in accordance with university policies and procedures due process to ensure clean audits for account payable function

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS
- If English is not your native language then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard at a BULATS Intermediate level (BULATS score 60), equivalent to IELTS (General) 5.5. RMIT Vietnam will require you to complete a BULATS test to assess your level of English before an offer of employment can be made.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Experience in using and applying accounting principles and standards and internal control.
- Knowledge and experience in using Accounting software such as Sun system and/or standard Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Microsoft Word.
