JOB CONTEXT
- Damen Song Cam Shipyard is engineering, outfitting, commissioning and delivering various Damen standard ship types. Basic designs and most components are delivered to DSCS by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem. DSCS will complete the detailed design, and production information, which will be used during the assembly of the vessels.
- Project management is one of four departments in Projects department of Damen Song Cam shipyard. and is under supervision of Manager Projects.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB
- The Project Manager has an overall project responsibility to deliver the projects according to specification, in time, complying with the Damen quality standards and within budget. The Project Manager manages the project team and coordinates with all relevant departments and other stakeholders for a successful project realization.
- The project manager is the most important link between clients and Damen (single point of contact principle) and other stakeholders such as subcontractors, class and key suppliers. The Project Manager will work on several projects simultaneously in a multi project environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACTIVITIES
Support to make proper planning and preparation:
- Coordinate with planning, material coordinator and production for making proper planning and preparation.
- Coordinate and secure the delivery of drawings, specifications, documentation and goods to the yard

Manage the project:
- Manage the project by monitoring the building process to maintain the highest Damen standard quality and within time frame and budget. Coordinate supportive or/corrective actions if needed.
- Coordinate with projects team, production and monitor, supervise of the building process of several projects simultaneously
- Ensure distribution of necessary technical information to support the building process
- Coordinate with QC, production to supervise the quality & maintain, improve to comply with the highest Damen quality standards.
- Monitor the progress, recognize project risks, coordinate with relating parties for solving or inform high level for giving appropriate preventing action to keep progress and according planning and time frame
- Communicate and coordinate with classification and client comply with rules, regulations, client’s desire
- Make internal and external (monthly photos report) progress reporting & project progress planning.

Make plan, arrange and coordinate for docking and sea trial and finalizing vessel:
- Coordinate with commissioning department for making suitable commissioning and sea trial planning in order to combine engineering efforts
- Manage sea trials and final check of systems including presentation of functioning systems to class and clients
- Collect all rest points from clients, class and coordinate with QC, commissioning to make the final remarks list after sea trial
- Manage the project team and production to solve all remaining remarks and finalizing vessel as specification,

Prepare and arrange all documents for delivery vessel. Then evaluation project, proposal for improved design, building process:
- Prepare and handle over of classification and other delivery documents such as technical file of hull, class certificates, equipment certificates, sea trial report and others as specification.
- Hand over of outstanding remarks, technical file, commissioning book, paint diary record and other as requested to PM DSgo.
- Hold and manage the project evaluation and then make the action list accordingly to improve the design, building process and company procedures if applicable.

Monitor and report budget, cost, determine less and extra work. Ensure OHS&E policies & guidelines are carried out:
- Monitor and report the project cost to Management team monthly.
- Determine less and extra work based on specification and client requests
- Carry out financial closing of the project with a post calculation including cost analysis and successive measures/or improvement.

Education
- Completed Bachelor or Master Degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering

Experience
- Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in a managerial position or as entrepreneur
