Production (Deputy) Manager - Garment Industry

The Production Manager is responsible for all manufacturing processes within the factory. As a key member of the management team, the Production Manager achieves the manufacturing targets in a timely and cost-effective manner, whilst producing garments that meet or exceed our customers’ quality requirements.

1. Managing the overall production activities which include productivity improvement, cost control, production planning & control, headcount ratio control and material utilization.
2. Developing production strategies that support overall company objectives e.g. shorter production runs/frequent changeovers to improve customer service and lower inventory/working capital.
3. Participating in budget planning which includes capacity budget, expenses budget, capital expenditure budget and headcount budget for production department.
4. Managing visits from local & overseas customer’s quality inspector.
5. Establishing systems and procedures and an effective monitoring system especially on production related issues.
6. Ensuring adherence to Environmental, Health and Safety standards.
7. Managing, directing and controlling all production activities in order to achieve the required level of cost, quality, and delivery lead time.
8. Devising, implementing and maintaining an effective quality management system.
9. Ensuring good work practices on the factory floor and high levels of productivity.
10. Sharing best practices in manufacturing and management techniques with other group factories throughout the region.

• A minimum of 7 years of successfully progressive general management experience in a multi-facility manufacturing operation in the textile and apparel field.
• Strong leadership skills with a ‘hands-on’, ‘roll-up-the-sleeves’ and ‘get on with it’ attitude.
• A solid understanding and appreciation for progressive management techniques, technical ‘know-how’ and innovation.
• Proven experience in developing and working within budgets. He/She should have the ability to manage and coordinate production activities and to delegate effectively where necessary.
• Written and spoken English (for communication purpose).
• Ability to speak Chinese, Cantonese or Vietnamese will be an advantage for communication purpose.
• Computer knowledge, data analysis and presentation skill.
