Production Assistant will be responsible for supporting production as per the plan, procurement of equipment/material/tools for Melee Production Department, collecting the production related data (production , quality, performance , worker availability, production related issues) and providing required analytical details to the concerned on regular basis. Providing production reports and other related reports as per agreed frequency or as per special requirements. To cooperate with other supervisors in managing, balancing, training labor force to maintain the company's production schedule and quality and ensuring that all stock is balanced and accounted for at all times
He/She leads with integrity, motivation, is assertive, anticipates and solves problems. The production Assistant shall carry out other duties as requested by management and according to the needs of the business The main indicators are the required product quality standards, productivity and yield/DV targets. Adherence to standard manuals, policies and procedures is essential.
Key Accountabilities
Provide a description of the key accountabilities that the position is responsible for. Estimate the percentage of time to be spent on each accountability, totaling to 100%. Indicate whether each accountability is critical or necessary.
* Production Support
• Follow up on production plan. Providing feedbacks to manager/ supervisor and workers to ensure the section`s production and quality objective are met
• Support manager and supervisors in ensuring diamond checking schedule is ensured and also any other initiative which supports security of the stones
• Work closely with the ICPL team to control and follow the stock list so as to ensure that production and export plans are adhered
• Works closely with the Quality Control and Grading departments to understand quality issues arising from the production department and support in implementing policy, practice and processes to eliminate or reduce errors working closely with production supervisors under guidance of Production Manager
• Ensures that problems are anticipated which can hamper production and export schedules and work closely with all concerned to ensure mitigation plan is in place to eliminate or minimize issues that impacts production and export plan
• Implement Laurelton Diamond’s manufacturing practices and procedures
• Support updation of all the Manuals/Procedures/Policies related to the production as necessary
• Create and maintain a balanced work flow of stones and head count are met in all areas working closely with ICPL and HR respectively
• To develop necessary reports and reporting systems in order to record all the production data for productivity / quality/ cost analysis
• To monitor closely performance of workers with respect to their Months-in-Service and provides timely feedback to them for performance improvement working closely with supervisors and departmental manager
• To work closely with other support functions in particular HR, Engineering, Purchase departments towards developing effective feedback loop with objective of improving operational effectiveness
• Continuously strive to raise standards of housekeeping in the production area. Support implementation of 6S methodology
• Assist and translate in any meetings that requires dual language English/Vietnamese
* Planning and Organizing
• Developing, supporting and supervising all planning with regards to equipment/ tools/ and material for production diamond processing
• Keep record of stock and make purchase plans for the necessary tools, equipment and consumable
• Track budget for the Production and reporting any abnormality and developing action plan for the same
• Work balancing for the existing production staffs to support production plan
* Supervising (Lead and coach)
• Act as a coach, mentor-motivator of his/her team. This means being actively involved in the performance management process: communicate goals and values, continuously give feedback (both positive and constructive), listen, show empathy, organize corrective actions and training, assess performance in an objective way.
• To coordinate monthly performance evaluation in the department
• Support and cooperate with other supervisors and workers to complete assigned goals and target
* Learning and Development
• To cooperate with other supervisors in the department in managing, balancing, training the labor force to maintain the company's production schedule and quality
• Coordinating training schedules within the department
• Intensively work with other supervisor/trainers to achieve department training goals in all areas
• As a part of training, emphasize on using Laurelton procedures and policies at all times. Constantly review the training contents and propose for changes if needed to improvise
* Communication and liaison
• Be the communication liaison between the team, colleagues and manager. As a production team member, point out quality / production issues, attend meetings, and make suggestions to improve
• Liaise actively with inventory control with regards to the logistics planning of the department, making sure that production is balanced and shipment schedules are adhered
• Liaise with the workshop making sure equipment issues are communicated.
• To provide the necessary reports and feedback as required
* Security, Safety and house keeping
• Maintain a safe attitude at work and behave in safe manner to prevent accidents and injuries
• Ensure workplace procedures including Health and safety procedures are in place and followed at all times to ensure the security of all goods and property throughout the process. Monitor all of the previous, report non-compliance where found and take corrective action to ensure that non-compliance is eliminated in a timely manner
• Ensure that a good working atmosphere is maintained by promoting an environment of mutual respect and by ensuring that employees and problems are handled in a fair and transparent manner
• Ensure a clean and well organized work area is created. Train all the relevant personnel to have a culture of good house-keeping

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree.
• 2+ years of production management operations team of supervisors and workers
• Good understanding of flow of production processes and working with support teams like Quality, Finance, HR, IT , Admin etc.
• Good spoken and writing English ability with excellent communication skills.
• Good knowledge of micro soft office and advanced knowledge of Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience with performance management.
• Good statistical/analytical skills.
