JOB SUMMARY:
Supervise and implement training for all Upholstery Furniture Product Engineering personnel. Work closely with the engineering department staff to ensure all BOM and technical information and procedures are current, and company designated computer system accurately reflects actual production materials and practices. Oversee the process of new product introduction. Continuously work to improve engineering data and reporting processes and initiate and complete relative department cost savings initiatives. Manage department in such a manner that fosters teamwork while increasing productivity and company profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage engineering personnel in developing and maintaining equitable standards in assigned areas of production with appropriate documentation. Includes employee performance calculation and tracking.
2. Manage engineering personnel in creating, establishing, and maintaining proper packing techniques and materials to ensure low cost while maintaining product quality standards.
3. Prepare Bills of Material and Engineering Change orders in support of new products or continuous improvement projects
4. Periodically audit inline and new products as they are being produced in production to identify and correct problems. Verify questions regarding spec sheets, materials, and other product related questions from production and quality personnel.
5. Work with Finance department to perform analysis on special projects and feasibility studies as they pertain to product and product changes.
6. Coordinate all communications with Ashley representatives that pertain to Engineering data to ensure accurate and clear communication of issues and countermeasures.
7. Set up department control by writing and enforcing SOPs, ensure SOPs are understood and followed by all engineering related staff.
8. Initiate and assist in new cost improvement projects focused on improving the cost and quality of current product lines. This may include new or enhanced design, materials or process related projects.
9. Effectively capture cost reduction savings and determine impact to product lines and the business.
10. Manage projects which require strong cross functional engagement. Facilitate team building.
11. Direct the day to day activities of engineering department personnel as to meet company objectives.
12. Promptly perform all tasks assigned by the Senior Engineering Manager.
13. Serve as a mentor to subordinates by creating an environment characterized by a free exchange of ideas, teaching, and learning from each other.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
In charge of whole Upholstery Product Engineering Department.

1. Education
- Required:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Technical.
Product engineering project management is a MUST
2. Experience
- More than 4-year experience in engineering field
- Experience at Manager level at least 3 years
- Minimum of two years’ experience in product design/development. Upholstery Furniture experience preferred.
3. Skills and Abilities
- Work Hands-on
- Highly capable of identifying problems and solving problems.
- Very proactive and energetic.
- Good at Written and Spoken English
- Positive, enthusiastic, creative, embrace changes, performs under pressure
- Work well in a team-based environment.
