Product Development Officer

1. JOB DETAILS
Position Title: Product Development Officer
Division: Brand & Marketing
Reporting to: Sales Marketing Assistant Director
Location: HCMC

2. POSITION PURPOSE
Support the Head of Product Development in the development of new products and management of the product portfolio to enhance business growth and profitability of the company.

3. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
3.1 Support in developing new products as well as improving existing products that meet customers’ needs. (20% of time)

3.2 Assist with coordinating the involvement of related departments and DLJ related parties in the product development process to ensure the product development activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner. (20% of time)

3.3 Participate in developing product submission materials and marketing materials such as policy wording, product brochures, benefit illustration, product web contents etc… (25% of time)

3.4 Updates, researches and analyses competitors’ products in comparison with company’s new products development. (15% of time)

3.5 Assist with developing sales and training materials and participate in preparing product sales incentive and organizing product launching events to ensure effective introduction of new products. (7% of time)

3.6 Provide support in conducting internal and external product surveys including market research, focus groups, sales talks etc ... (8% of time)

3.7 Other jobs as delegated by the line manager and senior management. (5% of time)

4. JOB SPECIFICATION
• University degree; Business & administration of marketing is preferably;
• Work experience with foreign or J.V company, preferably in Life Insurance.
• Particular experience in the area of sales and marketing, in particular the development and promotion of life insurance products.
• Very good communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Good English skills, particularly in creative writing and proposal writing.
• Excellent computer skills, especially in PowerPoint and Excel.

5. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal interface
• Communicate clearly and concisely and maintain good relationship with related departments and product development/implementation members, especially during the product development process.
• Maintain good relationship with senior sales managers with a view to get their involvement in the product development process and get their feedback accordingly.
External Interface
• Build up an effective network of reference across the industry for the collection of competitor information for development of required product.

6. CHALLENGES
• Support in ensuring the Company’s position as a leading provider of top quality products through effective product development.
• Achieving project schedules within time frames agreed and successfully coordinating activities with other managers, functional staff and actuary.
