Product Development Manager - Footwear

SUMMARY: The Product Development Manager (Account Project Manager) will be responsible for the timely delivery and quality of Under Armour product of specific projects within a particular category for development, engineering, & costing within a particular partner factory.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following. Other duties may also be assigned.

 Managing Projects through the development, engineering, and costing in close collaboration with UA HQ, UA Local team, and the factory partner.
 Understands the product and vision of the Under Armour brand and educating the factory partner to understand as well.
 Manages allocated product in accordance with design and specification requirements as detailed by the HQ product team while maintaining an emphasis on performance and integrity.
 Is able to work within development timelines without compromising product quality and design integrity.
 Develops an understanding of supplier timelines (ex. molds, lasts) and ensures that these delivery timelines are met.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 At least 5 years’ experience working in the footwear industry in a technical capacity (strong understanding of footwear manufacturing – pattern engineering, mold making, grading, material processing, etc.)
 IT knowledge
 Preferably holds a degree in a post-secondary discipline (ex. Associate’s degree, B.A, etc).

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
 Graduated College/University
 Experience with Cleated/Promo categories in development or technical position;
 Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
 Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English.
 Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from their counterparts at UA HQ, their team mates, factory partners, various groups of vendor representatives, clients, customers and the general public.
 Strong trouble shooting and communication skill.
 Ability to work independent and good business mindset
 Excellent English skills.


REASONING ABILITY:
 Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions with factory partner.

 The employee will be required to travel up to 10-15% of the time within Asia along with trips to Baltimore and Portland Product Headquarters.
