Procurement Officer

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for coordinating other departments to handle the purchasing needs of a company and assist the Procurement Manager in the overall working of the department.

Tasks:
• Planning, sourcing & purchasing several items & scope of items are the indirect materials such as machinery, equipment, spare part, repair works, office furniture, services…follow Procurement SOP.
• Negotiating with suppliers to fix purchasing conditions including contract/PO/Price/delivery date/payment terms/tax issue/material specification/quality/ warranty and so on.
• Working with supplier/forwarder for shipping document preparation & customs declaration
• Setting up & managing work-flow of whole purchasing activities
• Investigate statistical data & figures by multiple methods relating to purchasing
• Prepare monthly accomplishment report/ cost saving to be submitted to direct manager
• To prepare and recommend Approved Vendor List
• Strictly follow and comply with Procurement SOP.
• Recommend for the improvement in Procurement Section
• The position is responsible for considering and ensuring the confidentiality of all works, documents and information received during the course of work performance with due diligence and not to disclose any confidential information to any third-party for personal interest during and after the employment with CMIT.
• The position has the responsibility to read, acknowledge understanding, stay updated and set good example of compliance with the company’s policies stipulated in various regulations, guides and manuals including but not limited to the Staff Manual, IT Guide, HSSE Manual, Letter of Authority, Anti-corruption policy etc.

A candidate with high sense of responsibility and integrity who must be qualified, decisive, result orientated, high concern with accuracy and details as well as able to co-ordinate in harmony and work well within a team.

The ideal candidate has:
• College degree preferably in Business Administration, Foreign Trade, Accounting or related field. Some formal exposure in engineering or engineering related discipline will be preferred.
• Requires at least two years of purchasing experience
• Effective oral and written communications skills
• Involves high degree of judgment and knowledge in analyzing quotations and purchasing procedures. Excellent reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of procurement problems. Able to apply statistical calculations and analysis of bids.
• Must have a good understanding of procurement practices and principles.
• Good understanding of stores, warehousing, material control, inventory control, and the relationship among purchasing, stores, and finance activities is preferable.
• Must have some knowledge of logistics.
• The incumbent requires a very high degree of ethical standards.
