Global Change Delivery -
Global Change Delivery works with businesses and delivery partners across the world by combining change expertise and experience to help shape and implement strategic change for HSBC. The function delivers change through four key services, supporting endto-end change life cycle: Change Portfolio Management, Programme & Project Management, Business Consulting and Process Re-engineering.
The division is instrumental in driving change improvements in customer experience and unit costs through automation, standardisation and optimisation of HSBC’s operating model covering people, processes, products and channels.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join this team in the role of Procurement Manager.
In this role, you will:
• Plan and consolidate business needs for his/her dedicated spend categories and designated internal customers
• Achieve saving objectives set within the Commodity target.
• Build up the preferred supplier list using the criteria defined in the purchasing procedure
• Recruitment, leadership motivation, management and control of staff to ensure that team objectives are met
• Promote and implement e-procurement system
• Manage operational risk, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting
• Provide data/analysis to assist in delivering a commodity Procurement strategy in line with Commodity and Procurement strategy
• Ensure that discrepancies and invoice queries are effectively investigated and resolved or appropriately referred with recommendations.
• Effectively prioritise, process and complete work in accordance with the systems requirements and procedures.
• Provide full support to internal Customers in all elements of order processing in line with Procurement’s policies and procedures, considering and advising on Commodity specific constraints where appropriate, including but not limited to the use of only Bank preferred Suppliers.
• Provide stakeholders with accurate, clear and concise advice/information and make recommendations and take appropriate action within agreed timescales
• Complex invoice enquiries/queries handled in an attentive manner and are resolved to the satisfaction of the Customer.
• Drive eInvoicing projects with vendors, internal customers and Supply Systems.
• Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
• Share knowledge and experience with colleagues, providing assistant on referred/technical issues.
• Support Category and Commodity Managers with tactical activities and reporting
• Undertake training and development opportunities.
• Use the standard Procurement sourcing process and associated tools of e-Procurement tools (e-Auctions, eRFX, etc.). Negotiate and implement terms and conditions to assure maximum benefit, contractual protection and risk minimization.
• Monitor financial stability of strategic, preferred and other suppliers on a regular basis to evaluate financial stability of all suppliers. Recommend best value solution for MI collation for Commodity.
• Ensure that systems including BuySmart and Contracts database is fully updated and contract expiries/reviews are addressed in a timely manner
• Collate statistics/data/information accurately and pass to the appropriate person within agreed timescales. Recommend best value solution for MI collation of Commodity. Report commodity results and performance in line with a reporting timetable.
• Identify and present opportunities to eliminate, automate or simplify internal processes consistent with risks appetite and control requirements
