POSITION: Painting Engineer
REPORTS TO: Painting Engineering Manager

SUMMARY:
In this position you will work in our Painting Engineering team and collaborating production designer to create and proceed better painting process for painting products. Practice the process and skill in a consistent quality with our SEA QC team in different factory. You will be responsible for coordinating project document and communicating design intent to ensure the product delivered exceeds the expectations of our rider.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
1. Engineer meaningful and innovative products that inspire cyclists & lead the industry.
2. Team collaboration with engineers, product managers, developers, graphic designers, and marketing.
3. Brainstorming new concepts and ideas for our products and work to gain insight for the needs of all riders.
4. Frequently travel to supplier factories throughout Asia and to our US headquarters as required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Product Developing:
1. Take responsibility for new projects from concept through production and all phases in between.
2. Create a schedule to organize your work and maintain a list of deliverables for on-time production delivery.
3. Search for new material and process with vendor’s RD team to provide to design teams and manufacturers to iterate through design reviews as required.
4. Looking for new material and process with factory according design team’s concept and requirement.
5. Work closely with quality teams at supplier factories to get all required test on new product to ensure the following development workable.
6. Work with factory and team to find any possible solution to improve production line.

• Product Testing & Approval:
1. Coordinate prototype delivery schedule for new sample presentation.
2. Develop new color, decal and process with vendors to meet design team’s concept then give the approval for the production.
3. Work with quality team closely to find any potential risk on new product, material or process through performance test. According to the results provide best recommendation or find alternate solution to design team and vendor.
4. Research and design new tests as needed.

• Production Readiness:
1. Coordinate with the project manager to maintain project and deliverable deadlines according to the overall project schedule.
2. Follow correct procedures and communicate with supplier factories, manufacturing engineers, and quality engineers to prepare all project stakeholders for mass production.
3. Conduct pilot runs as needed with factories to prove out the production readiness of the project.

• Painting Process and Quality Continuous Improvement:
1. Work with painting engineering team to improve and document new processes and help to grow the abilities of the entire team.
2. Work with the quality team on identifying root causes of testing and manufacturing issues to help provide suggested product improvements.
3. Perform other duties as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO WIN:
Basic Qualifications:
1. Experience with production painting line, decal printing or appearance processing in metal, carbon or plastic.
2. Good verbal and written communication skills in English is very important working in our fast-paced environment.
3. Well Document management and report in Windows Office or other system
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bike appearance devolvement experience:
2. Paint application, high polymer application experience.
3. Metal appearance processing experience.
