Packaging Engineer

This position requires a detailed understanding of packaging development process to make a significant contribution to business. Need a depth & breathe knowledge of packaging enabling technologies. Need to develop good linkage among R&D, marketing brand team, relative plants and procurement to delivery projects.

Key Accountabilities

1. Manage and delivery new packaging development projects by flawless execution to reach business target.
• Plan packaging projects in line with growth objective.
• Lead to develop new packaging format to support business growth.
• Manage and approve the packaging mockups and specification.
• Lead and coordinate the communication with marketing, production, purchasing and packaging supplier for mock-ups and approval.
Allocate resource to support promotion-packaging projects

2. Initiate and lead specification uploading projects:
• Plan projects in line with R&D packaging objectives and strategies.
• Collect all technical data, specification from suppliers to review and correct them before uploading into spec system
• Work closely with Suppliers, Manufactory to define right specification to use for projects
Co-lead the joint target projects with packaging procurement.

3. Provide General Technical Support to business.
• May develop project scope in response to business initiatives. Active participant in developing, recommending, planning and delivery in line with business process.
• Communicate with marketing for selecting and screening new packaging material and format.
• Able to solve complex technical issues and ensures follow up and pro-active resolution in conjunction with manager.
• Co-operate with QA/QC to address out-coming packaging quality issue.
• Evaluate packaging suppliers basing on the supplier’s technology and capability.
Carry out annual packaging supplier audit

4 . Assist to implement biscuits packaging strategy and other global packaging strategy

 Bachelor/Master degree in Packaging or related Technology or Engineering
 At least 3-5 years experience in packaging
 Strong project management background. Able to manage multiple assignments and tasks concurrently and meet deadline.
 Factory experience in filling & packing operation especially in FMCG industry.
 Experience in flexibles, rigid & solid board, and corrugated packaging.
 Familiar with Packaging Safety, Quality, and Compliance.
 Good understanding in HACCP
 Good knowledge on hygienic Engineering
 Good inter-personal skill
 Good command of English & computer skills
