Packaging Development Engineer - Global Company

+ Reports to: Technical Manager
+ Responsible for: new packaging development, project management, new packaging material qualification, CI & Lean PKG process, define the parameter process for PKG line/ machine
+ Work venue: My Phuoc Plant, Ben Cat Dist., Binh Duong Province, Vietnam
+ Company bus provided to support the transportation for staff with many pick-up points
+ Additional support: Transportation provided for the candidates when be invited for interview at the factory

# Main mission:
- Provide the project management for new product development work with MKT, R&D and manufacture team to design develop and implement new product, to enable Colgate-Palmolive to meet strategic business goals
- Manage margin improvement and simplification project as well.
- Take care of new material and new technology development to achieve the goals of projects.

# In order to achieve the big mission above, the successful candidates will be responsible to deliver Core Tasks / Projects:
+ Support the conceptualization, initiation, development and implementation of new and improved packages and processes including: design generation, engineering specifications, mold and machinery qualification, functionality and quality testing, and technology transfer.
+ Drive implementation and support for new product launches, cost savings & operations efficiency initiatives, and quality investigations
+ Responsible for Technology Transfer from Package Engineering to Manufacturing Operations to ensure new packaging systems perform as designed and meet operational targets
+ Modify the design of packaging systems and packaging components, ensuring consumer acceptance, manufacturing capability, quality and cost are met from the program brief through design, engineering and commercialization
+ Create cost and savings estimates, tooling/package qualification plans, technology transfer documentation (Design History Files) and final package component specifications, Bills of Materials, Manufacturing Specifications, case information
+ Coordinate line trials to ensure package performance for manufacturing. Attend component and manufacturing startups as needed to ensure proper execution of design, function, and manufacturability.
+ Responsible for aspects of project management: project planning, capital expenditure management, and technology transfer associated with projects. Manage flow of information, and communicate project timelines, costs, and associated risks.
+ Understand and interpret package testing procedures and results to support the effective design, qualification, validation, and implementation of new package systems and packaging technology while providing explanations and forward actions appropriate to project team.
+ Partner with plant engineering to ensure that packaging equipment/material system specifications, functionality and design are appropriate for use
+ Master data management: PGSS, PMS, AW file, SKU master files, Material code, ECN, MDGM, Gross weight for products,....
+ Lead Quality/FP&R/EOSH standard: refer on R&R matrix detail for each standard.

1. Education:
BS or MS in Material Science, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

2. Experience:
Minimum 1 years experience in Packaging Development, experience in project management is a plus.

3. Other requirements:
+ Agile Project Management Skill : Ability to work independently or team on multiple packaging projects and ensure successful completion meet with timeline. Have a knowledge or experience about Agile project management (Scrum, waterfall, Kanban..)
+ Self management : have ownership and accountability of the work and other team member, mutually supportive of each other to deliver project together.
+ Effective cross-functional teamwork and strong collaboration skills are essential for this role.
+ Excellent Communication skills – transparent and effective communication with internal and external is key to this job, as packaging engineers work as part of a team and must be able to explain their ideas to colleagues and clients about project detail
+ Growth mindset : A passion for learning new thing and a craving to work in a friendly culture
+ Technical skills: Packaging engineers work with computer software and design programs on a regular basis: pallet pattern design and optimization (TOPS / CAPE software), Adobe Illustrator (AI), CorelDraw, CAD for design technical drawing & graphic, excellent using Google Drive Apps, so they must be technically minded and able to quickly pick up new software
