Ocean Freight Supervisor

The Ocean Freight Supervisor supervises daily operational activities and serves as a customer liaison. This position oversees the execution of processes and evaluates quality goals to identify process improvements. He/She develops responses to atypical issues and manages customer expectations through business reviews.

This position will manage a group of specialists and admin staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Ocean Product Customers
• Collaborates with Business Development to conduct customer visits, evaluate service gaps, and ensure customer satisfaction with product offerings.
• Demonstrates ocean services expertise to leverage customer relationships, expand customer services, and improve ocean product processes.
• Responds to customer escalations to resolve issues and address complex customer concerns.
• Monitors preferred carrier’s performance to meet customer and product expectations and match organizational goals.
• Contributes to quarterly business reviews to manage customer expectations and meet customer commitments.

Supervises Ocean Product Operations
• Manage daily operations to ensure performance indices and service levels and to investigate variances for development of corrective action plans.
• Evaluates quality goals to identify process improvements needed.
• Reviews operational benchmarking to support continuous process improvement.
• Contributes to special projects to promote business enhancements (e.g., new applications, systems support, etc.).

Provides Ocean Freight Reports
• Generates reports to combine operational data (e.g., storage costs, etc.) for shipment processing and management review; and maintains reports to fulfill customer requested data (e.g., insurance, invoices, etc.).
• Analyzes daily performance reports to define process improvements and to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinates the preparation of shipment documentation and administration to support Operations.

Supervise and develop non-management team members

Location Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh

• 4-5 years of experience in equivalent positions
• Has some experience working in a freight forwarding environment is preffered.
• Demonstrates a detailed understanding of processes, procedures, and technology for intermodal transportation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Able to use basic software to develop and review reports to ensure accuracy, completeness and identifies issues with report generation (e.g., missing variables, incorrect data, etc.)
• Good interpersonal and communication skills in order to work across functions with teams in both Vietnam and overseas
• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Foreign Trade or relevant fields
Must understand basic English
