Multimedia Librarian

Key responsibilities

- Create visual, audio, and multimedia objects for the library, such as: videos, webpages, interactive html packages, brochures and posters, and other print materials.
- Provide specialist technical expertise (in graphic design and video/sound/image production) to help library staff create effective and engaging interactive online learning materials and activities.
- Support library staff in the use of videos and graphic design tools. Enable them to record and minimally edit their own screen and lecture captures.
- Provide front of desk library customer service including loans, administrative tasks, shelving and supervise the library spaces.
- Assist stakeholders and provide frontline support that is aligned to the direction of the University.
- Assist learning and teaching through the delivery and creation of innovative digital literacy programs.
- Undertake other library duties as required

- A degree in relevant field.
- Willing to take rostered shifts at evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- Relevant work experience, preferably in an educational environment, in web page design/layout and content management, and filming experience.
- Ability to produce multimedia objects; experience working with supported AV tools (Dreamweaver, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Echo360). Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Awareness of international copyright and academic integrity principles.
- Knowledge of AV post-production process and techniques and ability to design graphics for print media (e.g., posters, brochures) would be an advantage.
- Ability to develop media which complies with WCAG 2.0 guidelines.
- English proficiency requirements: BULATS Intermediate level (BULATS score 60), equivalent to IELTS (General) 5.5. Without certification, RMIT Vietnam will require you to complete a BULATS test to assess your level of English.
