Merchandiser Homeware – South East Asia

European retailer is looking for a merchandiser for Decoration, home -filling categories. The Merchandiser is responsible of product sourcing, order follow, production follow up and workflow according to the priorities and instructions settled by his/her hierarchy.

The merchandiser will be the key person for International Buyer of category or range of products. This person will manage commercial and supplier aspects for sourcing projects, product development, and production.

• Execute the sourcing project of his/her category or range
• Analyse figures and trends to anticipate future product needs
• Follow strictly retro-planing and procure all parties involved comply with it.
• Collect and understand buyer’s requests: what products, specifications; from which suppliers, at what price.
• Conducts supplier analysis of existing suppliers and evaluates potential suppliers.
• Propose sourcing plans and manage the overall supplier qualification process
• Prepare the sourcing trips, buying trip.
• Request for developments and quotations to potential suppliers
• Relay to supplier product specifications, instructions company SOPs and terms & conditions.
• Negotiate prices and deliveries
• Help and support buyer for Order placement
• Confirm Orders to suppliers and chasing for PI and all company requirements.
• Manages the sampling and product approval process for the project.
• Follow up production and ensure the compliance of every activity, procedure (critical path)
• Chasing supplier for deliver on time and keep commitments.
• Plan and coordinate factory visits and production quality control.
• Report delays and/or problematic with anticipation to buyer and hierarchy. Propose and negotiate solution.
• Keep close communication with vendor and buyer. Report weekly status to buyer and hierarchy.
• Identify and cultivate business relationship with strategic vendors.
• Follow company and hierarchy instructions to maintain adequate supplier database.
• Available for travelling in Asia and Europe.
• Follow strictly Company and Office Code of Conduct and disciplines.

Sourcing & Purchasing: Expert with +5 Proven Experience
Merchandising & Vendor management: Expert with +5 Proven Experience
Manufacturing Consumer goods: Expert with +5 Proven Experience
Commercial sense: Advanced with +5 Proven Experience
Retail & Trading: Advanced with +3 Proven Experience
Foreigner or International Company: Advanced with +3 Proven Experience
Domestic Market: Expert with +5 Proven Experience

Knowledge of:
European Market: Advanced with +2 Proven Experience w/ EU
European Standards: Advanced with +2 Proven Experience w/ EU
Spanish Market: Intermediate is a Plus

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
Decoration, Christmas and non-seasonal items: Advanced with +2 Proven Experience
Storing and home-filling: Advanced with +2 Proven Experience
Technical knowledge of production processes: Advanced
Technical features of table top: Advanced
