Medical Underwriting Manager

- Setting overall functional NBU (New Business – Underwriting) objectives and directions, NBU procedures for all business channels and proposing for Underwriting guidelines subject to Company’s vision and mission.
- Proposing/ Initiating/ Managing operations of nationwide NBU team to ensure the team’s activities smoothly executed in accordance with the Company principle and guidelines.
- Monitoring quality and productivity of NBU staffs and Underwriters to make sure risk assessment and classification correctly as Underwriting guidelines and cost efficiency. Conducting annual Case review and authority limit revision.
- Make the business requirement to enhance systems to support daily tasks.
- Contributing towards NBU staff development strategic and annual review plan (Underwriter Development Program), deploy strategy and various action plans including training & education programs (to staffs, partners...etc.), workshops... to ensure their work performance effectively and developing the team becomes the reputation professional NBU team in Vietnam market.
- Co-operating with reinsurer(s) to effectively perform the reinsurance treaty(ies), handle ceding and facultative underwriting cases as well as to organize reinsurer’s training courses/workshops to staffs.
- Participating in individual and group business and providing support to resolve complex and/or high sum assured cases, the complaints related to NBU.
- Setting up, monitoring operations of Medical Advisor Team & Panel doctors to reach Dept objectives.
- Effectively building and maintaining relationship with other related sections (Management, Claims, CS, Sales force, Actuary...etc), outsiders such as Government Agencies and stakeholders (if any) to smoothly solve all NBU related issues. Responsible for NBU training program for Sales side/partnership.
- Participating in building NBU Operational budget and control the cost effectively.
- Perform assigned tasks by line manager to meet the objectives of department and the company.

- University degree, higher of Medical background levels or Underwriting
- Life Insurance certificates: LOMA 280, 290, 386, ALU are advantages
- At least 5 years of NBU field at Senior Underwriter level and 2 years of experience of management roles in Life Insurance
- Good command of English
- Understand of new business & underwriting processes of Core systems
- Integrity, reliability
- Highly committed and self-motivated.
