Mechanical Engineer

1. JOB SUMMARY:
Design machinery & tooling to use for products assembly & testing; maintain machines & test equipment to support daily production activities; provide technical support & troubleshooting on production lines.
Design new packaging materials, new packaging BOMs for new products, evaluate new mechanical components

2. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

2.1 DESIGN MACHINES AND TESTING TOOLS, EVALUATE NEW MECHANICAL COMPONENTS
• Performs complex machinery design activities; design, implementation and maintenance of complex mechanical & electromechanical equipment, components and/or circuits for new and existing products. Participate in new product design meetings. Design, manufacture assembly & testing tools to server new product launching. Creates and maintains design history, researches configurations and design methodologies.
• Performs complex testing activities and feasibility studies; Develops qualification test procedures and carries out qualification testing for products & components. Participate to new products pilot build, contribute to realize the production equipment for testing and assembling. Examines and evaluates new mechanical components and/or electronic circuits. Create prototypes for beta testing and for customer demonstration. Researches new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.
• May serve as liaison to outside vendors and contractors, ensures that vendors and contractors have the abilities and resources to support development; may collaborate on product specifications and components selection.

2.2 PROVIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO DAILY PRODUCTION LINES, PRODUCTION PROCESS
• Maintain machines & testing/ assembly tools on daily production lines, provide technical support & troubleshoot machines problems, support day to day production activities to ensure daily production activities is smooth.
• Work with Product engineers on creating, maintaining method sheet and coordinates the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), manufacturing process variation (PDCF, PVCF…), rework instruction… Define machines specification, daily check sheet criteria of work stations & machines.
• Serve and liaison with other engineers (Product engineers, Testing engineers, Production engineers, Quality engineers) to provide technical support and assist in resolution of manufacturing problems as required including manufacturing process issues, product testing and product quality issues. Study & understand product specification, production process by supporting the Senior Engineers to define the production phases.
• Perform continuous improvement activities to keep improving manufacturing process, especially assembly & testing tools and efficiency.

2.3 DESIGN PRODUCTS PACKAGING MATERIALS, PACKAGING BOMs
• Design packaging BOMs and packaging materials for new products & existing products, perform necessary testing to evaluate & qualify new packaging materials.
• Serve and liaison with NPD (New Product Development), global technical support & sale team in order to design the optimal packaging BOMs, packaging materials for products or Customers requests.

2.4 OTHERS:
• Perform special projects or assignments as required by superior, prepare reports of results and conclusions for management. Manage time & plan day-to-day activities according to more senior positions priorities.
• Provides work assistance to lower Engineers and other Engineers in Department.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Automation, Mechatronics engineering, Machinery Manufacturing engineering or relevant fields (prefer Mechatronics engineering).
• Two years of mechanical design engineering or related area experience, prefer experience in design tools/ jigs & test equipment for electronics devices manufacturing.
• Excellent knowledge of mechatronics engineering & machinery design engineering, design principles and practices.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD design software, proficient in using Creo 4.0 (Pro E) & PLC programming will be plus.
• Required language(s): Vietnamese and English (Good command in English both writing and speaking)
• Ability to work independently, resolve technical and manufacturing issues without detailed direction, and work as part of a team
• Ability to work within strict deadlines
• Possess a good organizational, communication, editing and technical writing skills
• Ability to proactively identify and resolve engineering and manufacturing related issues and have a thorough understanding of product responsibilities and manufacturing processes
