Material Coordinator

JOB CONTEXT
Damen Song Cam Shipyard Co., Ltd is a joint venture between Damen Shipyards Group in the Netherlands (70%) and Song Cam Shipyard (30%), member of SBIC and based in Haiphong, Vietnam. At a 42 hectares site just outside Haiphong, Damen Song Cam is a strategic and preferred production location within the Damen Shipyards Group to produce tugboats and work-boats. At the moment, the shipyard is a dedicated outfitting shipyard, outfitting, commissioning and delivering approx. 40 vessels per year to clients worldwide. At a later stage Damen Song Cam will further increase its production facilities to deliver approx. 80 vessels a year and will start to produce some of the hulls which are currently sub-contracted to other yards.
Material Coordinator (MC) is project connected. Deal everything related to materials and services in a project. Make sure all materials will be arrived on time according to planning

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB
Material Coordination is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of materials from suppliers to DSCS warehouse according to planning (on time/ best price/ good quality).
- Create the Bill of material (BOM) for every Template.
- Create Purchase requisition (PR) and actively manage it.
- Create Purchase Order (PO) and actively manage it.
- Expedite (trace material arrival in the yard).
- Report material status in the project team.
- Find alternative solutions in case materials are late or missing in DSCS warehouse.
- Handling Nonconformity report (NCR).
- Make a inventory list

Create the BOM for every Template.
- Check drawing package of Engineering /Specification/Demarcation/ MTO list/ Oil List/ Spec paint, grab store …to make M-BOM. To work with Engineering to change drawing if needed.
- Make clarify materials/ SET-Materials which supplied by DAMEN/ DSCS/ Hull yard as mentioned in Demarcation.
Create PR’s and actively manage it
- Check and release PR lines: PMRP, MRP (Supplier by Damen).
- Feedback work preparation in case PR’s double & wrong activities & latest order date’s overdue.
- To add supplier correctly.
Create PO’s and actively manage it
- Check and reuse leftover material in stock before creating PO
- Process the demand and create PO
- Select Delivery Terms: Air/Sea Transport
Trace material
- Checking the status of materials from supplier to DSCS (PR, PO, shipment, ETA)
- Arrival note from DSCS customer.
Report material status
- Make the material status overview report biweekly (including PO, shipment, ETA). Reschedule material planning in case it should be soon or late/missing.
- Feedback DSGo
Find alternative solutions in case materials are late or missing in DSCS warehouse - Feedback to supplier, DSGo
- Borrow material from other project or send material via Airfreight or buy local
Handling NCR
- Checking NCR and final solution
(Send back supplier for warranty or order new ones)
Inventory list
- Check and make a inventory list

Education
- Maritime Hull/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering & Technical University
- Good computer skills : Autocad, Microsoft office, email
- Technical insight
- Language: English
Experience
Completed engineering or naval architecture and a minimum of 3 years’ experience with work preparation, planning, and logistics, supply chain (production-experience is a benefit)
